$5.26
Last night I paid $1.71 a litre for 98 RON......thats $6.32(AUD) a US Gal.
$75 per gallon nothing you can do about it except ***** and give up your daily driver gas hog.I really feel sorry for the people that make their living using what ever sort of vechile they need to do their job.
I pull a rig everyday that costs me about 1600.00 a month in gas for the truck and equipment. If gas prices continue to go up at this rate I'll be spending over 2000.00 in gas per month. Work is slowing down by the day, but I'm making it OK. I have invested well for the bad times ahead in Gold and Silver. MMG
Government=$0.47 per gal.
Big oil = $0.05 per gal.
Americans need to get a handle on their "politicos".
Once you've made up your mind, Don't let the facts get in your way.
:coffee2:
It's possible that big oil gets a nickel. It's also possible that that's a bogus number someone pulled out of the air. Suppose it's only a nickel on a gallon of gas. That doesn't in any way indicate what they get for a barrel of oil. How much does Exxon profit on a barrel of oil before it's refined. I know how much the government profits. Suddenly I don't feel so bad for them only making a nickel a gallon profit. They won't tell you that they refine their own oil and divert all the profits to the upstream side of the business to make it appear they don't make as much on the downstream side. I work for a manufacturing company that does the same thing. We manufacture parts and sell them to a parts supplier that we also own. This parts supplier marks up the parts so high it's impossible for us to make a profit. Parts wholesalers pay a different tax rate than manufacturers so we come out smelling great on both ends.
I am spending on average about $110.00 day to fill my work van. So I am losing $550.00 week on fuel alone. I have come to the realization that if I am to survive (not even break even) I need to raise the prices for any and all additional services and parts needed for any installations that fall out of the realm of a "Basic Replacement". My contract only pays me to do a basic install and anything outside of this I am free to charge fair market value for additional work/services. I have been keeping these costs low to not hit the customer as I am aware that a LOT of people are hurting also but I am being FORCED to have to charge more. It sucks all around. I really am not making any additional cash because the cost of fuel is taking away any additional revenue I am charging. it is a vicious cycle.
