How is this cam for 470

-
OK going to ask You one question ,and then call lunati, and comp and get their ideas....Which Flat tappet Hydraulic cam would you try in my 470? with the ported and polished heads with 10.4-10.7-1 compression. I will gear and put the right converter in it. If I make at least 525-550hp this thing will run in the tens the lower the HP , the lighter the car will be . Its either a 65 cornet or a duster that's it, remember I only have room for 560 lift. So all I want is Hydraulic cam part numbers,I know A hyd roller,a flat solid,a solid roller will all make more HP,that is a fact, but looking to make 600hp with 470 inches,I have made 650hp with crap heads on a 454,made 625hp with only 406 inch sbc 11-1.... 210 afr heads,750 carb. 241/247@050 575lift street roller with 3.55 gears 10.78 through mufflers so now I want a 470 BBM with a hyd cam and 575-625hp

This thread gets really confusing. There is talk of 650 lb-ft of torque and 575 HP. Over on Road Runner forum you don't want to go with the RPM intake because it only makes 593 HP at 6,500 rpm. Well if the 470 makes 650 tq and 575 hp, it's doing all that before 6,000 rpm. What do you really want, eh? I think you need a 512 ci engine to cover all the bases.
too much comp. w/ iron heads, too much quench, gonna rattle like hell !

If you are talking about the 512 I call BS. When you design a 512 it's important to be smarter than your iron heads, pistons and camshaft. I can do it, but I won't do it for free.

I don't like the whole damn 470 design/requirements in this thread. It's not well thought out. But if Gene can do it with his Chevies, he damn well should be able to do it with his 440 (excuse me, 470) and no other help.

He's certainly not using the catalog for required components. I'm sure it will be fine.

Big deal,I'll use .051 head gasket and gain 7cc's and get the c0mp down to 10.3 and run at 34 degrees, and use the lunati 242/252 cam if it still rattles,I'll get the chambers polished and add another 4-5cc, if it still rattles I will run E85 if it still rattles I'll burn it or use it for an anchor and buy a chevy!

I don't get some of u guys,Aported iron head will ping with 10.5 or so to 1.My 69 roadrunner I had up to 1979,and ran it on 93 octane and it had 10-1 from the factory, rebuilt it milled the heads 030. ran 40 degrees total with 906 heads with over 300 duration in a 383 Never made a ping, never ever. After running a 400 sbc alot of them run hot, because of not drilling steam holes.Am used to keeping engines at below 190,and I don't care what anyone says,My cars run faster at 160 than 200 don't care what the engineers say.Last 400 sbc ran so cool I never drilled the steam holes and had a toggle swith on my waterpump so I could build heat,at the strip because whatever temp I run the 1st pass, the rest of the day is run at the same temp. and if at least 5 builds in mags of 400's,383s,440s they mostly go for the XE285HL with iorn heads, without a problem. U no it alls think with 90 more cubic inches you can't go up on step,or going from the 241/247 @050 to 242/252 is WAY TOO Much. hey 360 rumble lookin foward to meeting u and talkin to ya the rest of u engine builders,if u can't say it nice keep it 2 ur self,I gotta hear about bold fonts,or I would tell u but I have to get paid,is that what u say to everyone askin a question...Pay me yeah....
