None of mine were ever perfect, but I used to drive almost all of my cars. When I lived in Atlanta, I drove several to the Mopar Nats, including my Hemi Charger, three different Barracudas and a Valiant convertible. Since moving to Tallahassee, I have driven several more down to Mopars at Big Daddy's, including my Valiant convertible, which got Garlits' choice in 1995. There were local shows and cruise nights to drive to, club meetings, and one friend who had a shop 25 miles away, and I thought nothing about driving the 50 mile round trip to pay him a visit. But then our local Mopar club died, along with our local street rod club, cruise nights disappeared (replaced by cars and coffee get togethers that start too early in the morning for me), several of my friends passed away, and my wife and I got genuinely old ourselves. I can still work on my cars, but I sure have slowed down, and I also just don't have as much excuse for taking them for a spin. And my wife can no longer physically handle spirited driving. So I've gotten behind, with several cars needing rather minor upkeep, and a couple others that are major projects, that I haven't been able to get around to yet. I still mess around with them - I'm totally rebuillding my 67 Barracuda's front suspension and brakes - but I have come to realize that I need to thin the herd a bit.
At least they are all inside.
