How many project cars are too many?

Just curious on everyones take on how many projects are too many. I currently have 2, possibly 3 project cars. I have had these for a couple of years already and have done nothing to them except parts collecting. I also know that I will not touch them for 1 more year. By then I will be in great financial shape if I still have a job. Problem now is I found a new project car, and it is in far better shape than my current ones. I feel the price is great and I have always wanted this year model.

2 is 1 to many. I find it very easy to buy and collect parts & cars. The hard part is actually finding the time to put the parts on.

1 is all I can manage.

Its hard coming up with the cash for parts and its tough finding the time to work on the car as much as I would like.

If I had any more I would never get any of them done. I'll stick with 1

well i do have a.d.d and i some how keep getting more lol ive got one right now and one more coming. now my dad has 4.. btw the a.d.d dont help i will start doing one thing to the cuda and then get an ideal and start some thing diff. oh well i will get it done some how ...........

i have adhd or somethin like that...maybe I'm just crazeee...I have more than 20 project cars that I collect parts for....i do what I can with em but know I can't tend to all of em........problem is i rescued em from the scrapper and they can't go there....other problem....people want em for less than I have in em...so I'm not buyin em anymore.....unless I can't pass em up but really times have been tough so it's not a problem..i'm werkin on the ones I can

68 Barracuda convertible /6 project car
68 Barracuda Fastback 383 project car
68 Barracuda Fastback /6 parts car

Craig, your list of cars sound like a broken record. ;)
Having all the same cars, 2 projects is already too much.

Get the best parts of all and the 383 and put that and your efforts in the convertible. Sell the rest.

Now it's my turn to step up to the box...
I've got 8 cars, 4 runners and 4 projects, with 'Project Daily Dart' almost up and running aswell.

I've always advised people to not buy similar type of project cars, because you don't know which one you really like and spend your money on.
But somehow I haven't been able to follow my own advise lately :-# but at least I still have a number of cars with various years and body-styles.

There's also a saying that goes; "If you don't have room for 1 car extra, you also don't have room for 2 cars extra, so the problem stays the same" ... :sign5:

Since project cars aren't the only "projects" I have at any given time, more than one project car at a time is enough. Especially if my ultimate goal is to complete it.

There is nothing wrong with having more than 1 project car,so you switch off one to another so you don't get burnt out and lose interest in that 1 car,and sometimes working on another give you some better or different ideas to work on the car that you aren't working on ,I just like switching up once in awhile so I don't burnout,besides my 64 Barracuda I work on,I have 97 Ram I do things too,87 Dakota I do things too,and 91 Dodge Daytona I work on also,its amazing things that you come up with when you bounce from car to car.Besides when I work on Alice,the Barracuda,yes I name my cars,sometimes I have to track down parts I need,so I work on something else,I've only been working on for 13 yrs,I should be finished this summer if all goes well.

Craig for what it's worth... Most of the guys say 2 is too many and I pretty much agree, but I am just like Big Block Mopar, I have fallen in to the trap of not following my own advice! lol

I had to cut this "book" I wrote down... so here is the bottom line: STAY FOCUSED DUDE! Or you will be overwhelmed, and it is very frustrating and makes it worse. Get 1 or 2 at most and focus on finishing them, unless you are just like me and some of the others here with A.D.D. and this is beyond the reach of your will power already lol

I have WAY too many, I will never get them all done... I will be thinning the heard when I get home from Iraq, probably will trade 4 cars for one done car just to get rid of the stress...

Then there is the '66 273 Valiant I just picked up for my daughter's first race car, but that is another story... Thanks for the Valiant Bob!

"Oh man, that is such a good deal, I CAN'T turn it down" .... But in this market the rough car you are replacing will probably have to be traded because you can't hardly give it away, just like waggin was saying... You are better off to keep it for parts...

The car I was looking at is a 68 Coronet. It is a western car and is cheap even in this economy.

A couple of years ago I traded a 71 Satellite for a 68 383 Formula S car. Sometimes the trades are good.

I didn't mean to intimate that there was anything wrong with it for other people. I was merely speaking for myself. I'm very much aware that some people can handle many project cars simultaneously. I'm just not one of them.

The answer is between 1 and 100 depending on space and wallet thickness. I have 1 tooooo many at 3. But with luck, 1 is far away and well kept at my best freinds house. So, once a year, I visit him and do a lil'something on it. Soon it'll be a running and driving big block duster. (400/727)

I keep 2 here so I do not get burnt out on 1. (73-360-4spd Cuda / 79 Magnum) I switch back and forth. Next year is the target to drive one of them around to help my right foot and brain relax. This year is probably a bust on driving an oldie. But busy I'll be.
