How rare are 273 Commando factory pistons .030 over ?

Interesting. I never paid much attention but put the same pistons in the same cylinders I took them out of when I did my engines.

The factory commandos,,,,and all left and right pistons ,,had an F cast into the side of them .
Each F corresponds to the correct bank .
Yes,, the F goes towards the front,,,and it matches the notch on the crown that goes to the front .
I doubt you got them mixed .

I've got one...the one on the right, which was put in the engine prior to 1975. The piston on the left is a factory standard bore. Four other pistons in that motor had broken top rings. It smoked a bit...

Just bought new Egge 0.030 over 273 Commando pistons for my build. I think there were a couple other places with them available, but Egge had them in stock and they get so much publicity here I went with them.

EDIT TO ADD - "Just bought" means my builder had talked to them and got my approval, then in the late spring when he called to order Egge said that they did not have enough to give a full set. A couple days later they called back and said they found an 8th piston and could fill the order, which they did in late April with delivery to my builder. He billed me end of July, so I said 'just'... but it was relative. If they had not found that last piston, we'd have been looking at fall delivery at the earliest as they had some issue with a master casting and had to have it replaced, or something like that.

My machinist had heard of Egge but had never used them. He was impressed with the quality and the size and weight consistency.

You got good pistons. That was smart.

66 MOPAR parts manual has listings for std, 0.005, 0.020, and 0.040 O/S pistons for the 273 4bbl, so if you have 0.030 O/S pistons, i believe they are some kind of aftermarket, I do not have the 1967 parts book. I will post an image of the page once I get home.
