well it's that time of year again for us floridiots. Run for the hills! ok just kidding, it just seems people here in orlando are in a frenzy. I guess too many people got hit hard within the last few years. Is it wrong to be kinda excited?

We're gettin' hammered already in Zephyrhills.............leading arm of the storm is passin' through right now....street is flooded, but not too bad at this point........should get a break for a while in about 10 minutes or so........

The eye won't be up here until tomorrow..........If I could only find that dang snorkel........

I hear ya. I'll just tighten the torsion bars and put 200psi into the rear air shocks and I'll have plenty of water clearance...

Good Luck guys, but remember this; it beats freezing yer *** off for 6 months a year like we do in CT.

Wish I was there.

George

thanks ram, we'll be here. this one shouldn't be too bad as long as the flooding stays in check and the power isn't out for a week like with charlie..

George, I know man, I spent Christmas in the snow ONCE and that was enough..I'd pick hurricanes and shorts on Christmas day any ol' time :)

That's nuts. It's still over the Keys. We got told yesterday to get ready to deploy. We leave 5AM Thurs. morning to go down on Cat. duty. I'm an independent adjuster and will be "roughing it" for a few months so if you see our motorhome with Co plates "So Long" honk at us.

Looks like she decided to visit Melbourne. Good thing is she isn't very strong. Oh Boy! Still remember 2004!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone is doing fine.
But I am still worried about the tornadoes popping up any where down there.
Be safe and make sure you have a safe place to go too.:clock:

it ain't over yet.:-k Hang in there,
and I pray for the best for all of you.:angel4:

Thanks......... I'm gonna be in the garage workin' on the Dart Sport steering column.......If the storm tries anything funny, it's gotta take us BOTH......8)

yeah, the minivan will stay outside while the duster waits it out in the garage...that is when I get home from work :(

Mopower71, you're not here in orl trying to do some racing are you? I'm about 5 min from the speedworld.

MVR, that motorhome looks familiar ... were ya all in south Louisiana after Katrina too???

Best of luck floridians!!! Stay safe down there.

MVR, wasn't it you who recently said in another thread you could use some work??? You got a connection or what??

My wife is from Mississippi and through hurricanes all her life, the biggest being Camille in 69....she prefers snow to hurricanes...although she probably would move back to the SF bay area....

Good luck and hope all goes well. This storm looks like just another nasty summer weather day compared to other ones. Hurricane Seasons of '04 & '05 are directly responsible for me now residing in TX. Francis, Jean, & Wilma all hit Palm Beach County pretty good. Scared the Crap out of my wife. Got brushed by Katrina. I think the straw that broke the Real Estate market's back was Wilma. It pushed insurance costs through the roof (no pun intended).

Yes, Bo was down there for a while after that storm. I wasn't doing adjusting back then.

This one looks like a non-event. A friend in Ft. Myers said it didn't even blow over his garbage can. Guess we have to wait till the next one.

That was me. I just got sick and tired of getting screwed doing the work so now I get paid for looking at it and write estimates.

Had a tornado touched down in Barefoot Bay and damaged at last report 51 homes. I now have lake front property. So deep I have to wade in and out. Sure wish it would pick up speed and go away. At 9 mph its moving at import speed. Will take almost 9 hours to get from one end of Brevard Co. to the other. The rain really needs to let up!!!!

yep really sucks i read meters for the power company i'll be down in those flood zones this n next week not lookin forward to it

Man that is allot of water, How is the duster

Yes, it's bad. Some areas have already had 30" of rain. Now the damn thing is going to come back in from the Atlantic below Jacksonville and go back across the state to the Gulf. It's suppose to rain heavily till Fri. Storm damaged is covered. In most cases flooding is not unless you have flood insurance. Most people have a $250.00 or $500.00 deductable. Hurricane deductables are usually 1% or 2% of the value of your home. If it's worth $200K and you have a 2% deductable your hurricane deductable is $4000.00 instead of $250.00.

Now the good news people, this was not a hurricane only a tropical storm so you do not have to pay the hurricane deductable, just the normal deductable.
I believe alot more people are going to file a claim when the word gets out.

Meanwhile we wait for the call.
