That sucks! Give it back to your kids. Mabby they will suprise you again with a new motor to go with the paint job! LOL

What happened?Did your truck die?Looks like your outta the weather having a chat with Victoria!LOL!Are you warning her about breakdowns?

I'm going to have to say I'm confused on whats going on here.. :(
My truck died on the road and has blocked passage , But things are all cleared up know, After walking back up the hill and get the chain saw out so people could get by, I am not worried about it getting towed away, just rather have it on the hill.:-D

Thanks for clearing that up, i was lost also..

So what's up Mike? Run out of gas? Battery dead?
Flooded it I am sure, I went down to the road and it fired right up.
I was beet down tired then the truck would not start and then I had to clear a path, Victoria and I made a beer run and I could not resist.

Bed time

'night buddy! Glad to hear the truck is running again. Nothing worse than being beat to **** and then having to work more. I like logging work but not to clear a path around my stalled truck.

The truck was tired, give it a break. Maybe you scratched the truck with a branch and it got pissed. Either way, you got the chance to enjoy some fresh air and a beer or two so it couldn't be all that bad.

Good day in all gts349, I was woried about the road grader or the mail and I
had to do something ,Everyone was gone so I was on my own, Brother came in from work and said "looks like the guy across the road decided to get off his a$$ an move his tree's I told him to read this post :-D

Whose little suv thing has the right front 3 ft. in the air? I'm betting some clean underwear were required after that manuever.

Hey, YOU GOT TO DRIVE YOUR CAR MIKE!!! Lucky you... Mine are still tucked away. It's cold here again, with a very light snow happening right now. A couple days ago it was almost 50 and we had a lot of rain. It washed down the streets and I had a glimmer of hope that I would be able to drive one of my cars. NOPE. The salt truck made two full speed passes up and down the street throwing rock salt everywhere. Nice, no reason for it either... Oh well, maybe next month.

I am glad we never got that ice storm like you guys had.

gts,

I used to live in IL and I remeber the rocksalt. That's part of the reason I moved. Here they use sand. Unfortunately, sometimes it's more like gravel and I go through a windshield a year easy on my daily drivers. Rather swap swap out shields than do body work though.....

No good deed goes unpunished! Looking good though Mike! And Im with you guys about what a pain rock salt is. When we got that little warm up on thursday I spent a good half hour on my back hosing the 1/4 inch of the caked on salt off of the underside of my SUV.

Badawg,

How you feeling? Good to see you posting again! The worst stuff they use here is calcium chloride. It's a liquid they spray on the road when it gets really icy, but it comes right off and doesn't stick/abrade like rock salt does.

When they spray it on I-70 in the mountains it has a tendency to steam and gets up into the power lines and transformers. Apparently, it's conductive. Not good.

Yes , Victoria and I mad a beer run, I live in a dry county and its just a 20 mile drive there and back, The truck fired right up when I returned and now she is back in her nest.
I have got to give my nest a thumbs up on keeping her safe and dry.
We have had 40 mph winds and ice and some nasty rains and it was the best 2 hundred dolors I have spent on her.
She sure is a plesure to drive, No my speedo is not stuck , I am driving as I took this picture, and the last picture is my party store this fall picture

Im doing good! They restrict the amount of calcium chloride they can use here for that same reason. Same goes for rock salt in the areas where the houses still have well water, too much salt and it runs off and seeps into the water table and contaminates the wells.

Its nice to see you getting the chance to get Victoria out and stretch her legs a bit Mike. A nice little reward for you after all that hard work!

Hello brother, :cheers:Hope you are doing well,
Here in Arkansas they put out sand.
Not much need for salt here.
I was in my old Dakota last year and was headed down hill to a stop
and the sand made me slide to a stop :tongue9: nearly did not get stoped:pale: close call. Big gravel truck whizzed by at the time.
