My Grandma passed yesterday morning, She went peacfull with her son at her side.

What f#+ked my head was as pops put it "The mechanics of it".
He called the police and wen out side and sat in his truck and waited, for and HOUR AND A HALF!!!.
Then police, fire and ambulance arive. Granted I know thos is how it works but dam. What the f##k was the ambulance crew gonna do she had been gone over an hour.. On top of that BS Pops who has been caring for her for the last 5 years has to be i interrogated like a dam criminal..

It was quite a shock and an insult to pops who did not need any more s#it.

I dont know what to say besides that on the worst day of a persons life they should not be left hanging in the street and made to feal like a criminal.

Just WTF is wrong with our system...

I got a big gnarly stand of leaning lodge pole pine an i think i got the energy to drop every single one today...

That is F-up. Did they try to revive her ? if not the coroner would of sufficed and a cop to verify no foul play. Fire truck? in case you use a flame thrower,at them for them showing up so late. Iv`e seen 2-3 fire trucks and 5 cops at a scene of minor fender benders.
I`d imagine a $$$$$ fee is also heading that way.

Wait until they call and ask for body part donations. It's bad enough to loose a loved one, then the morgue wants to strip them for parts....


And now days, it's guilty until proven innocent...
 
First and foremost, sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family.

Different places do things differently.

Around here, the response would be about the same (except for the hour and a half wait part). When I worked with the local fire department as a Firefighter/EMT, I also worked part-time with the ambulance service and the Medical Examiners Office.

Once something like this is called in, the cops show up to check on foul play (it does happen), the ambulance may have been there to transport her (again, here we had a contract with the county for removals) unless prior arrangement were made with the funeral home.

I have been through countless scenarios like this. The only thing that is out of place is the response time IMO.

It seems troubling, but those are probably the protocols they have in place.
 

Yes they should have shown up in 5-15 mineuts.
I can only hope they were doing something more important and what they should have done (in my opinion ) is sent the black van and one unmarked unit.
The scene they caused did not need to be a circus out front with neighbors and looky loos...

Im sure i just want to be mad at something but the delay and added stress on pops is not cool.

chain saw work is out as i need to be around the phone so im gonna head ove to a buddys garrage and do a brake job just to keep bussy.
 
Well, I would certainly do a follow up as to why it took so long. Sometimes when I was on scene, it would take a while for the Medical Examiner to get there, but not the others.

Again, sorry you guys are going through this.

My sympathies. It is really tough sometimes. Try to remember the good times. From her smile, I bet there were many.
 
Cope: Still dealing with mother's death, six months ago.. This **** hits hard, emotions aren't the doctor/ nurses/ care givers job. They help ,what they can. Dealt with this,on death certificates.. My consolation..
