Long story short, I got a new LA 360 crate motor from a guy that took it in on a car trade. Cam and lifters were new as well, but he didn't know the size. I pulled the cam, and what I found is on the end it was stamped H 260. Also, it had purplish - pinkish paint between the lobes on the end of cam (last couple of lobes). The cam is black. I was thinking Competition, however, it could be a Crane. Is there a positive brand that used the paint, besides the purple shaft MP? Also, the "6" in the H 260 was not stamped very well and is a chance it could be an "8", making it an H 280. It's in the engine already, so no pictures. Once I start it, the idle should be clear if it's the 260 or 280. I really believe it was stamped H 260 though.....

Could be, but I didn't see any purple paint, at least on the one pictured.

But you have to consider, a lot of times Summit and other sites don't show a pic of the actual part, sometimes it's just a representation.

Kinda irks me sometimes.

I am fairly certain that the mopar "purple shafts" have the purple paint on one end of them, at least the ones that I have had did.

You need a degree wheel and dial indication to find the specs...

Yes, and I'm familiar with the MP cams as I have used a few of them. This is not a purple cam from Mopar Performance. I thought someone might know who else did this. I think comp cam had a "nostalgic purple cam" and had a H 260
