New today, glad to be here. For those at least 1973 Dart Swingers out there with a funky Idler arm, I have found the answer.

All places lead you to the K7086. but it may not be correct, as I have found. With my 73 Swinger, I have found that the K7041 Idler Arm is the correct arm.

Just thought I would share, and now off to check the forums!

Can you post a picture with the difference between the two.
After the alighnment shop did my front end, I have a tie rod end rubbing the torsion bar.

K7041

The 7041 has the drop, but no S curve to it.

71-72 B body K7041

73-76 A body K7086

I've tried to run that K7041 idler before with the 73-76 A-body centerlink and large spine power steering box. Same as 71 Challenger. It put my centerlink not level with the ground. If the centerlink is angled it puts a wear load on the idler bushing and ball joint.

If the centerlink is angled, it has to cause more trouble than that, LOL. Maybe bump steer, and other geometrical difficulties.

Yep.

But it will actually computer align even angled like that. I drove across country like that. Nothing drastically made the car drive strange. Maybe back to back you could tell a difference. Still, doesn't mean it right.

Second alignment guy noticed the angled centerlink and said, "you gotta change that"

That is the problem I having with mine.
The center link is on an angle.
After getting it back from the alignment shop, it is rubbing the torsion bar.
Are those part numbers moog numbers?

Crap, it looks like I do have the correct pitman arm.

I have the same problem right now on my Duster 74, my idler arm is K7086 Tread Saver and the tie rod on his right is rubbing the torsion bar and the idler arm hit thw oil pan.

Did you find the way to fix it?

I recently swap the drum brakes for disc brakes, tie rods, ball joints, bushings, idle and pitman are all new.

Pitman number is 7076 TRW
Idler number 7086 Tread Saver
