Which would it be?

The reason I ask is this.

My father and I didn't start speaking until a few years ago just before I turned 50, and though he claims to not be checking out until he's 120 or so, I'd rather plan ahead and go on a road trip that will create some good memories for us both.

I've been to Carlisle and really enjoyed it but I've not been to Columbus or Farmington.

He lives in TN.

Suggestions welcome.

Been to Carlisle, The Nats, Mopar's in the Park, Mopar's on the Mississippi, and of course our own Mopar Maxx.
Carlisle is the biggest and most organized. The swap meet is huge although I don't need many parts any more.
The Nats is fun because of the drag strip and Hemi Denney's display but it is starting to sag the last few years I have attended.
Mopar's in the Park near Minneapolis is about 4 hours north. I can drive either car there with ease. It is a very nice show and the most fun for me. It has the best FABO turn out. Thanks to Keith @66340SEDAN for setting that up each year.

Thanks TMM, Mopars in the park close to my old stomping grounds and use to be Mopars at the Mall I believe WAY back. Went to that many times. I did like Carlisle...

never been, but i hear cruise' n the coast is pretty good, mobile alabama i think

Summers Last Blast in Vernon Texas is really a great moving show , its always mid August ( hot, hot ... HOT ! ) ..typical is at least 200 cars cruising at any one time on streets .. I've seen it where there is a 1000 driving around , the show itself is on Sunday , I always went home .. of course like anything , times change been awhile since I went we would go up Friday night , camp in a parking lot along main with motorhome cook, drink beers with others .. then Saturday drive around and park with others here and there .. I would go if I lived just a bit closer ,every year its fun ..

Wife and I attended HotAugust Nights back in the early90s. Great event. Back then the casinos had their own small cruise ins so there was a lot of variety. The last time we went was the late 90s. At that point the whole city became a cruise in, not a lot of driving.

I understand now that the casinos have partnered with HON and unless you are registered with HON you are not invited into their parking lot. Given there’s a waiting list to attend we won’t bother entertaining the notion of making the trip to Reno.

I really enjoy Mopars in the Park and the people who go. I would love to make it to the Nats or Carlisle, but seeing you didn't put a limit on where - I pick The Goodwood Festival of Speed.

It’s a fun time but I can’t take all the credit, you all make it what it has become, and it really does get better every year! Reminds me....we need to make hotel reservations!

I have to agree, the MoPars in the Park show is my favorite and one of the best around...it’s also the biggest mopar show in the Midwest!

MoPars at the Mall...here in MN? Was that before the show? My first year was 1985 or 1986, it was at Burnsville Dodge, then Raceway Park in Shakopee, then Farmington and now it’s in Stillwater...I’ve never missed a year since I started going as a kid :D

I've been to Columbus and the Mopar Nat's countless times over the last 20+ years. Always thought that was the best there was. Then 2 years ago went to Carlisle for the first time. HANDS DOWN Carlisle is THE BEST BY FAR. I'll never miss another year!!!

Crusin' The Coast is on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It's held in October and is a huge week long event. Big Easy Mopars out of New Orleans has a Mopar only get together/show (not officially a part of Cruisin' The Coast) on Thursday and alway has a big turn out with lots of nice Mopars.

Never been here but it’s on my bucket list! Just wish it wasn’t so far from Minnesota

Pffft. I made it all the way from Alaska several times.

I wanted out of there though, so only 10 minutes from the show now. :)

For me I think Mopars in the Park, the FABO folks there are very numerous and have never met a stranger much less tolerate a empty glass. Just a absolute great time.
Yep!

Concours d elegance-pebble beach hot august nites Reno. Finally they are coming back after the scare. Don’t know many on the right coast but Florida has a bunch of smaller but great shows

I managed to swing by Hot August Nights on my honeymoon on our way to Tahoe 25 years ago (!) . I had never been to a city wide car show but it was very decentralized, ie. you could be chillin at a casino parking lot enjoying the parked cars and not know that 3 blocks down they were having an all Mopar cruise in or a burn out contest. Just too many things and not enough time to see them all. I went to MATS once and if it were not 50 degrees with a 15 mph wind over the parking lot swap section and 2 of every 3 swap spots being vacant, it would have been a good show with the drag strip right there. I think I got Dale Earnhardt to sign a picture there. He was just sitting there alone at a card table with a stack of pictures...no line or anything. It was a while ago to say the least. Spring Fling out here is a good show but I have not been to any of the off site events, ie Bobs Big Boy cruise in or the Malibu PCH run. They need a Dyno trailer there so they can get some of these beasts on there and flex their muscles. The only time you hear any of the cars is when they leave and a few will bang 2nd down Woodley ave. Ill get to Carlisle before I die.

I have to Nationals, Carlisle, Pigeon Forge and a few other small ones but my overall favorite is Cruizin' the Coast all along the Mississippi coast. You can all you want or sit along the beach and watch cars for a week. On Thursday there is a Mopars only event. Last year there was 9496 cars registered and probably half that many that didn't register, Joe

Still a few BOG members go to pacific grove/Monterey at the smaller cruises but when they all line up at Carmel that’s a great show

AACA Fall Hershey. You need two days minimum. If you're going for swap meet/parts, Thursday or Friday is the day to attend. Car judging is Saturday. It's big, and it is the entire spectrum from the early 1900 to the 70-80's, with a big emphasis on pre-war era.

Carlisle is the best car venue on the planet.
