I get this email today from Casino Niagara-which I will be in town in 3 weeks to see the High Wire Walk over Niagara Falls -dude is going to wear a safety line so it kind of sucks but I'm still going, its a good excuse to go, ha ha

The email goes on to say that every Thursday there be 2 drawings to win $5,000--must be present to win.

Likely I still won't win but if I did I was thinking how cool it be and I would blow $500 on myself before heading home with the rest of the cash--but then I got a bright and thought why should I even saying anything about it ? I'm heading up there alone, its out of the country, who would know besides the IRS--maybe they won't even find out ?

For 500 I wont say a thing to anyone. For 5 grand I am getting anoher car so it would be hard not to let people know.

Yeah I'm not married but do share a home. I help out the best I can the hard labor stuff, cleaning, shopping, cooking. Beats working full time I figure

Honesty is the best policy! After all, it's your money.

I've never been very good at keeping secrets so...

One of the thrift stores used to have a marvelous, compact little blonde gal --and smart too--working there, and I just loved to get a grin out of her

One day I asked her, "If I win the lottery, will you marry me?"

She doesn't even stop to hardly take a breath. Says, "Depends on how much you win!!"

I'de give it to the lady. Women love to get cash. Even though I would make 1/5th of my wife's salary working odd jobs here and there, sometimes I would just cash my paycheck into $20 bills and say "Baby go shopping!". While she was out spending my measly earnings having a great time i was paying the mortgage with our joint account ;).

These threads are great. Over the past few years, I have come to the following plan:
If I were to win any big dollar lottery, I'd resist the usual route that others take. I wouldn't rush out to buy cars for a bunch of people, I wouldn't clear anyones debt either. I wouldn't buy houses in foreign countries or take expensive trips.
I'd do SOME of that stuff over time, but the one thing that stays with me is this: I'd hire the best techs in the business to teach me how things are done. I'm talking about bodywork, paint, welding, metal fabrication, soldering, upholstry... everything. Sure, I already can do most of those things, but I would love to be great at some of them.
I'd buy and build A and b body cars and sell them for market value regardless of what it cost. Maybe I'd even finance operations to reproduce some much needed parts for our cars. Profit? Who cares? If i had buttloads of cash, I'd be happy to give a little love back to the hobby. I think that it would be fun to walk a swap meet and just buy whatever I wanted.
