Every time I go ip to Peoria area I like getting the burger barge

I know where you mean... I work on the other side of town 1/2 a block south of rigos tacos (a place I never eat, not a fan of that kind of food)

What's back there? Freehill Asphalt. Lane poultry used to be there and the State Garage. My house used to be on Herron Court right next to the State Garage fence. The 2018 flood wiped it out.

That's exactly where I'm at, the State garage.
Yeah that's the flood that US24 in front of the old McDonald's got to be 9' deep.... And why they tore it down and moved east... I remember moving cars from the back lot to the front of the building then later that day we called Dralle Chevy and ended up hiking those cars we moved up front, down there to keep them high and dry.
I have a picture somewhere showing a foot of water right thru the middle of our shop, out floor tapers towards the middle, my toolbox is along the wall basically right behind Freehill's and the water covered the wheels but didn't quite get to the bottom of the cabinet itself. I got a pic of it here somewhere. Had a caravan that had hit a deer here that the ECM was hanging and almost dragged the ground, waiting for it's turn in the body shop, I brought that in and put it on the lift to keep the water from shorting that out...
We were unloading the parts room into every pickup truck we could find to get stuff off the floor, and keep from wrecking stock...

Steve Freehill is my brother-in-law. I used to work for them in the 80's when they were in the other building right next to you. And it's a small world after all!...LOL

You guys are speaking my language!! I live about 15 miles from Peoria. It's a **** hole town anymore I try to stay out of but there are some good restaurants there. Avantis opened a location in Pekin so if I want them I go to Pekin, it's al little closer anyway. East Peoria has really done a nice job in the Leve District with shops and food and, it's much nicer down there so we go there a lot.

There's a Pizza Palace in Gilman...The one in Paxton closed. ROAD TRIP

I eat at K&H over there once in a while (the truck stop) but I've never been to the pizza place you mentioned. Might have to try it.

The old "Pinkies" in Gilman is now a completely remodeled "Crossroads Cantina"...It's a good spot. Right uptown on the west side of the road. There is a lounge side and family dining side. You can eat on either side and can walk thru to the salad bar in the back. If you want a good cod dinner...Blondies in Crescent City on Friday evenings is well worth the trip for about $10
