Looking for some help with fitting USDM armrests on my (Australian) VG Valiant hardtop.
Problem 1 : I bought some repro armrests to suit a 1968+ Dodge Dart, and the mounting holes line up fine but the clip in the body doesn't line up with the screw that runs diagonally from under the armrest pad. The AU base & pad is quite different, the pad is supported by the armrest which has a solid base, while the US basically clips in place. Photo of AU clip (the screw is trying to fit in about 10mm higher than the hole position) :

My guess is the US model has a different clip with a slightly different hole position. Can anyone confirm ?
Problem 2 : My LHS & RHS rear inner (fixed) door panels are different. The RHS has the same clip as the front doors, but the LHS just has holes :wack: Even the embossed section (that isn't covered by the inner door trim) is a different length. See photos :

So, how do I get the LHS armrest to screw in - does it just act like a self-tapper into the metal panel (ie. no retaining clip) ?
Thanks!
Dean.
