Does anyone make a high rise intake for a 318? I know this seems like a silly question but honestly ive looked all over the web and cannot find but one that Summit has. Can high rise intakes for 340s and 360s fit my 318 block as well?

yes the 340/360 intakes fit...

Thats why I love mother mopar.:love7:
I can take the starter off my 91 dodge Dakota la 318 and put it on
my little 170/6.

Life is good, Like doug 371 said :read2: It will fit:thumbrig:

just keep in mind that if you have stock 318 heads the ports wont match up well. it will bolt right up though. a good compromise would be a weiand stealth, the ports are very close to the same size and it has good runner volume for high rpm use.

Find an Edelbrock LD4B on ebay. You should be able to get one for around $100. Great intake.

camd64 answered the question. Good job. Minor port work to open it up to the intake required.

Adam's answer is also correct and should have a better port match, but is not a high rise intake, though traller than stock.

By asking for a high rise intake, it leeds to assume your looking to really pump it up on the 318. If so, the Weiand will fit the bill. If not, the LD4B will do.

LD4B is the same basic manifold as an LD340. Only real differences are the ports are 180* from the LD340, and the intake port opening at the head is for 318 heads. It's an exceptional manifold for a 318.

Ok sweet thanks guys. I wasnt plannin on running stock heads its gonna be a street car with tons of mods. I appreciate all your advice.

Well, if a ton-o-mods are the plan, the RPM or Stealth etc..... will do the job.

All small blocks are the same except the early 273 engine that have smaller attaching screws and a different angle for the head/intake surface.

Not quite the same. Small blocks same on top except early 273. Same on bottom except 360 which has larger main bearings (oil pan different as a result). Late 340 and 360s were externally balanced. 273 & 318 internally balanced. 2.02" intake heads won't fit 273 and 318 blocks need a little machine work.

Most components interchange freely with the exceptions noted. 360s and 340s have larger valves and ports than 318s and 273s, although some 318 cop car motors had 360 heads on them. The currently produced high-rise manifolds are made for these larger valved heads. Since the 360s and 73 340s used a smaller intake valve than the early 340s, these heads will go on a 318 with no serious modifications (maybe a little port & gasket matching if you're a perfectionist).

There's plenty of cool stuff out there to go as wild as you want. There are< however, trade-offs between street drivability and ultimate performance. Let your desires and wallet be your guides.
