Very good article. I haven't tested oils against HR lifters since the mid 2000's but at that time, if you used a thin oil the HR lifter would go through different...for lack of a better term...a harmonic. You could see it on the dyno graph.

The two things that made it go away were a heavier grade oil and the stiffest pushrods we could get in there.

That may have changed though, as I talked to a source a few years ago who assured me they are different now.

I'd only believe it if I tested it myself. And I don't use HR lifters any more.
