Well after almost 6 months of being out of work. I have an interview tomorrow. Ive put in countless applications with 1 interview prior to this one. Im excited. Tips welcomed.

Just don't suck up to the guy hiring you. They know you are there for the job and they are people just like you. I'm pretty sure they can tell when there is a suck up in the room. Just be yourself and explain to them you have been out of work and are really ready to get back. Good luck!!!

good luck.Sorry I don't have any advice but best wishes to you

Great news! My brother once gave me a bunch of tips when I was graduating college going to my first rouund of interviews. I cant remember all of them but here's a couple.

1. Keep the top 10" and bottom 10" of your body perfect (from the neck up and your shoes)

2. Wear a NICE watch. I had to borrow his!

3. Remember to give a firm handshake. I hate limp wristed people who come to interview with me. Just isnt a good sign to me.

Not much to go on, I know so good luck

The funny thing is I just applied for this job not more that an 1h 30mins ago. Its also the same place I had to turn down a few years ago as I had already accepted another position with another company. I usually have pretty good interview skills. Be honest and straight forward. Try not to fidgit.

i have not went on an interview since 1990. but to me eye contact is a big thing. don' look away like yuo are being dishonest but don't look at them like you want to put an ax in his head neither. I wish you the best of luck.....

Always look the interviewer in the eyes. Expecially if its a lady. 8) It shows respect.

Good Luck with the interview Josh!Yes,eye contact is important.Just be yourself and answers to questions will fall in place.Let us know how you make out?

Look in a mirror before you walk in. You don't want a grease smudge or food on your face, lol!

Study anything tonight that you might need to brush up on and bring a pen with you as well as notes. I always bring everything with me in a large daytimer or attache. They'll probably want all kinds of info like names and addresses of 3 business references and possibly 3 personal references.

Be confident and ready and look your best. :)

Good luck!

Yeah im excited. I made the interview for the afternoon. The guy told me I could come in anytime I wanted. But I chose to set up a time instead. To me it makes it more formal. Maybe now I can shead the 20lbs Ive gained since being out of work.

Yeah, eye contact, and a file folder with any info they could ever want.
I can't get an interview for 9 months, now.
Take it!

I think all of the to do and not to do points have been covered.

Saw the "Wonder Wagon" run at the Indy Nationals. Is it yours?

Nope the Wonder Wagon isnt mine. I saw it run at Eddyville Raceway. In a match race.

Thanks for all the replies. Im just so nervous. I really need this but on the same side I know its only a step.

Good luck, and be sure to wear a T-shirt that says, "You gotta hire me because I'm black", even if you are white, it will go over well, they like that stuff now days.

JK, kiddin, hope you get in.

Just had an interview myself and it went well. I went online and learned all I could about the company. Remember to smile, sit up straight, don't lean forward or backwards. If he or she asks you for adjectives to describe yourself, it's good to say 'energetic' and 'positive.' When they ask about what you've done in previous jobs, give specific examples of achievements (received award, was top seller, promoted to trainer, came up with new idea, etc.) Best thing is give yourself a big pep-talk beforehand about what a great guy you are. Take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy the moment! Good luck....if it's the right job for you will get it!!

No advice, just the very best of luck to you. Your skill, experience and honesty will get you the job. Kev

The interview went well. The manager is new and looking for warehouse experience. Which I have. He took me out and showed me the nimrods hes working with. I watch some kid trying to run a bander. He was trying to band it backwards. I did my best not to chuckle. We talked about what hes trying to do. Which are things that I have done. We shared the same opinion on how a warehouse should run. He seemed a little impressed by that. He did say that he had 2 or 3 people he would like to hire. With only 1 opening. I hope I was included in the 2 or 3 people.

Good luck to you! Don't let this get you down if you don't get it, but I sure hope you do. :)

I had a phone interview for a job today and they said that "We'll send your qualifications to the regional manager and you should get a face to face interview". We'll see how that goes.

Its not me I worry about its my wife. I know shes bustin her butt to try and keep everything paid. The best part is shes not keeping score.
