Is a gas tank leak fixable?

Just replaced the fuel sending unit gasket hoping the leak would stop, it didn't . The outer ring is leaking. Is there a way to fix this or do I have to get a new one?:banghead:

Try using a flat blade screwdriver and tap with a hammer to tighten the ring a little more...

I had this same exact thing happen to me tonight...i used a flat blade screwdriver and banged it with a hammer, the ring moved a quarter of an inch, and sealed...luckily....

sometimes if you use the new metal ring it wont seal because its made of a thinner, cheaper material than the factory ring...just an idea...

Use the original lock ring and rotate it fully to the stops.
