But it's one of those tools you really gotta have to do the job right.....

Is that a clutch pack compressor?
I use something much different that includes my vise.

That looks awkward

Jeff
It's a one inch slice of c bar laying on its side. I had to whack it in the Middle with a big hammer on the cement floor to get to spread out just to the perfect setting. I used it for getting the clutch packs in and out of a 904 drum.

Hey.....if it works

Harmonic balancer puller,3-4” bolts and 6 nuts. Nuts used to hold bolts as standoffs, and a threaded rod in vise. Worked very well. I actually drilled a hole in bench to run threaded rod into instead of the vise.
Also had cut a hole big enough in bench to stand transmission up,grabbed it about midway, was much easier to assemble. But its been 20 +years since i was in one. Wont be long i will be exploring the innards of the 904. Will see how much i forgot.

Oddly enough I seen somebody trying to put one in one of those contraptions and I thought to myself watching that guy wrestle that thing in and out of there was even harder than actually putting it in my vice and doing it LOL

Yeah it would be like forgetting how to read or something I would think? LOL it would take at least 20 years of heavy drugs for me to forget how to do that. But let me get started! Lol

Well I got to use it yesterday....worked freakin great!
The ears did want to slip out of the snap ring grooves so I just put little c-clamps on them....no problem after that.
