I had lost track of my old (ham radio) friend Lee, who is about 86, who lost his wife and remarried, moved from and back to, near where he'd lived for some time. I had written an email to see how they were doing as well as send him a photo or two of the latest "boating" on my end. They live near small town in MT, and here is his reply:

Now this is a coincidence. In a couple of ways. First off, yesterday I took a horrific fall from 10 feet up down on a tile floor. The ladder skidded out on the smooth tile. The ladder had skid proof feet on it. I badly damaged both knees and my right elbow. The only thing that saved me at all was my head landed on my folded right arm. My wife was standing a few feet behind and the skidding ladder knocked her down . That broke 4 ribs and also a very deep cut on her chin that had to be sewed up. We both were in the hospita;l overnight and finally got released this afternoon . That's why you didn't get an answer right away.
The other coincidence was I sold my boat the day before yesterday. It was a 19 foot Cobalt with a 200 HP Volvo Penta stern drive. Hated to part with it but I don't need a 50 + mph boat. This one did 52 with 4 people in it via the GPS. Now I am down to my 19 foot Alumacraft with a new 90 HP Johnson outboard. But it will do all I ever need to do anymore.
Right at the moment I don't think we'll be doing much of anything for awhile. We are both very sore and will be for some time especially my wife. Hope all is well with you and good to hear your ribs are doing much better.
