Hi all just purchased '75 Dart swinger with a 318 in it and a bad 727 transmission. I don't know anything about these. Looking forward seeing what it's all about. Thanks for letting me join!

Welcome to the site. You sure it's a 727?

Welcome from the motor city! Can you post some pics? We love pics.

Welcome
As stated unless the 904 was swapped for a 727 it is a 904.
As 318 in that car equals 904 transmission

Welcome to the Site!

Pan shape or might be easier to get the numbers on the drivers side transmission rail, just above the pan itself.

Pictures are always welcome

Have fun

So it is a 904 Tranny. I looked up the vin number and the car was built with a 225 6 cyl. They really shoehorned the motor and headers in it. The motor mounts aren't right. the driver side hits the block. The way the mounts are bolted up the motor could shift left or right.

The first picture shows the motor mount.Hitting the drain plug. Second picture is of the motor mount. On the other side you can see how it could swing left or right. Any ideas on the mounts

You got a project! It will be fun getting it figured out and straightened out.

This will get you started on the engine mounts. I'm not seeing the insulators.
Generally swapping engine types with a spool mount K-frame included swapping the K-frame.
I can't tell if this was done from the photos.
There may also be a cheat to swap 6 to an LA 318 on the spool mount K-frames. Someone here will know about Schumacher's brackets for spool mount k-frames. I don't.

Same bulletin lists the p/n for '74-'75 318 insulators as 2642810-1 but I think that's a typo. More likely 3642810 3642811

Since its a swap. A couple of other things that are worth checking.
Throttle linkage and transmission "kickdown" linkage. Everyone calls it "kickdown" but its main function is to adjust pressure in the transmission as the throttle position changes. More throttle => increasing pressure in that circuit of the transmission. This is very important.

Main circuits.
1975 was unique is a couple of ways. The important thing to know right now is that unlike earlier cars, there are two fusible links. This because in '75 the main feeds are split. This reduces the maximum load on the firewall connectors.

Oarwhat, nice, good-looking project. I have your Plymouth brother, a 75 Valiant Brougham 318 that I had completely restored a couple of years ago and I have so many leftover parts that you may want. I was talked into replacing almost everything with new, dumb SOB as I am! 318 motor mounts, starter, rebuilt radiator, fan and shroud just to name a few. DM me if you are interested, I'm not too far away, Rochester. Most of the parts will be free, I need to clean out the garage out now that I retired and most should fit your Dart.

Got the transmission pulled, dropped the pan, and it doesn't look good. Going to dive in further tomorrow
