K Frame Mods

Hi All,

I am in the process of rebuilding the front end, and have removed motor & front suspension etc. Before I powder coat my K Frame (/6 with schumacher mounts for B motor) are there any mods that can be done - is the any potential for any weight removal?

Any information would be appreciated!

I think theres a notch to be made for the oil pan, oil pan dependent I think. Wait on this, I may be wrong, but I do remember some people doing this notch.

If you have the mounts already, there should be some instructions as to where you have to notch the K-frame for the oil pump and filter. I was talking to the schumacher people last july at Carlisle and he had a 6 K-frame notched on display.

Take a look at www.firmfeel.com Lots of pictures of there K frames. Mostly for strength not weight savings though.
