k member color

i am restoring a 72 340 Demon, pulling the k member to restore engine and work on k member does anyone know what color the k member came from the Factory

Do yourself a favor and fully weld that K member up before you paint it! It makes that K member sooooo much stronger! That being said I had mine powder coated because it last longer.
