Keep this in mind when you buy Mopar Performance

This is their discalimer on all part #'s that start with a P and they all start with it :

NO PARTS WARRANTY – “AS IS”
Mopar Performance parts beginning with a “P” prefix are sold “as is” unless otherwise noted. This means thatparts sold by Mopar Performance carry no warranty whatsoever. Implied warranties, such as warranties of merchantability,are excluded. (An implied warranty of merchantability means that the part is reasonably fit for thegeneral purpose for which it was sold). The entire risk as to quality and performance of such parts is with the buyer. Should such parts prove defective following their purchase, the buyer and not the manufacturer, distributor or retailer, assumes the entire cost of all necessary servicing or repair. Chrysler, Jeep® ,Dodge and Ram vehicle and parts warranties are voided if the vehicle or parts are used for competition. The addition of performance parts does not by itself void a vehicle’s warranty. However, added performance parts (parts not originally supplied on
the vehicle from the factory) are not covered by the vehicle’s warranty, and any failure that they may cause is also not covered by the vehicle’s warranty.

Seems to be a trend. The parts aren't getting any cheaper (to buy) though. Less quality, less warranty, but more profit.

I can still remember back in the 80's when the public was told" we have to offshore manufacturing ,or things you buy will get really expensive". Lol well they are really expensive anyways,and quality sucks so bad,the people making them should be ashamed.

For what is is worth that warranty has always been like that, back when Mopar Performance was Direct Connection, they ran the same disclaimer, its not that they don't have faith in there parts its just the intended use of there parts are just that...high performance and there for are expected to be used under harsher conditions, often racing, many racing application parts come with no warranty, I would not be supprised to see if the GM performance plus line of parts they sell come with the same warranty

For vintage stuff, I like my Mopars, but being in the collision repair industry and regularly working on every brand, I will honestly say, modern Mopars are garbage (from a structural/body, standpoint).

Did. I'm real familiar with being brought junk to work on. Its even worse when the place selling it knows its junk. Don't know how they can live with themselves, I know I couldn't and I know you couldn't either.

When they first came out with the green bearings in the MP catalog it said "Drag Race Only" and after a few years they remove it. My buddy had the early ones and he lost an axle down a dark back road one night and it gouged out his wheel well and took out his sure grip. We spent days cleaning it out and getting his pig rebuilt and his car was down for a week and was his daily driver. I refuse to run green bearings in any of my cars because of that carnage in his car.

Exactly. I have a Direct Connection catalog. It's printed in black and white right inside the front. Always been like that. When we built performance engines in the little three man machine shop where I worked, we offered zero warranty of any kind if the engine was anything other than stock. It's not uncommon.......or it was not back then. Now, everybody wants somethin for nuthin, they want it now and they want someone else to pay when they tear it up.
