hi i have a 73 duster with a 340 engine a 904 tranny my question is the car has no kickdown cable it has a rachet shifter some one said you dont need the cable when you want to pass someone or go all out drop it into second for kickdown then go back into drive ,i thought you would burn up the tranny any opions thanks jim

Does it have a manual valve body?? If so then you do not need the throttle pressure linkage.

Someone had kickdown linkage on here for sale yesterday. I spend the money for the lokar cable, and throttle cable and it really works good.

you need a kickdown cable if you do not have a manual valve body....it is really a Throttle pressure cable..regulates the line pressure to the clutch pac....

keep driving without it...and your trans will be toast...

huh. my purple things ben runin without one for years now..

and no, doesnt have manual valve body
