Nope they were built both ways in both countries. Another cool fact is the New York Crown Vic taxi in the late 90`s and on was only built in Canada and the back door was 6 inches longer.

Sitting in shop tuning up my model A coupe and checked yup all screws and machine screws have Robertson heads on them. Spark plugs are two piece. So this car was built in Canada besides that the the plate on the fire wall says made in Canada LOL

70-72 Camaro pulls into the station for gas as did so many others. In goes the nozzle and the money starts adding up. As I'm washing the bug splattered windshield "Could you check the oil too please?". Open the hood 
"Hey Bill! You gotta come see this!" There before me in all it's splendor sits a Chevy II 4 cylinder 
. I finish off that end and go to the back to top it off, cap on, license plate springs up MANITOBA in big letters across the top of the plate. Ahhhh 
that explains the four banger .

A bit of trivia that you may or may not already know:
The initials of the four GM clones; Nova, Omega, Ventura, and Apollo; spell out "NOVA". Never knew if GM did that intentionally or not.

(Veturii?), out last night.
This is a Nova, lol. Got a few pics last night, including this Buick Sport Wagon, can't remember the last time I saw one of them.

My grandma had an Acadian and her sister had a 2 door Beaumont with a 396 big block. I was just a kid visiting north of Regina. I didnt know much but I new what a big block Chebby looked like.

I just sold a 65 Acadian invader station wagon. It was sitting in wrecollection for30 years put it on kiji sold in 3 days for a grand. The guy thought he stole it. Amazing.
I was just reading up on the Beaumont. Thats a rare bird with the big block.

No doubt think I’ve only ever seen 1 two door Beaumont at a show couple years ago

There are quite rare with a big block, went to school with a kid who had a 68 SD396 Beaumont, nice car, very solid, yellow and black. He ended up building a blown big block 64 Impala convert with a full tube chassis, not sure what happened to the Beaumont.

Beaumonts and Acadians were the result of a United Auto Workers contractual agreement with GM in the 1960s. Something about building a unique Canadian production car IIRC.
Same basic cars as Chevelles and Chevy II Novas, but with Pontiac badging and some very unique trim.

Poker run was good, covered about 50 miles around the area, got a few more pictures, but I really enjoyed seeing the cars out on the road being driven. Even my wife said that she would rather see the classic cars out on the road than sitting on the grass.
