last weeks hole "moving smart"

As we get older there are thing that we have to look at and do it smart.
It drive me crazy some times when my wife and children say NO!!! I will do it.
I knew if I was smart I could do this myself :cheers: and lord knows I am sick and tired of not doing the things I enjoyed in the past:angry7: doing things myself and not hurt this body I was gave and this was a good time to slow down and do it myself :cheers:
I have learned that taking my time and not get in a hurry to do a few things on my own, like the intake and exhaust I changed out on Victoria a three to 4 nut or bolts at a tome then cool my bones and then go back and do a few more 8) so I did the same thing here and got the job dun :happy10:
Mike and Creed called me and said they would be here after work and to put the shovel down :angry7: or you are going to hurt yourself before you go to Monster Mopar Weekend

Not me, I enjoyed digging a few inches at a time and I am sick of house work and I need to show them I can slow down and be smart and move smart :happy10:

I completed this last Strong End during the race and dad "me" is getting smarter everyday :cheers:

Thats the way you do it bro, take your time and do it right.. You have a loving family Mike, thay worry about you over doing it.. My dad used to be wide open all the time, after 2 strokes, a broke hip and a few other health issues I hardly ever let him out of my sight, I know it drives him nuts not being able to get around like he used to, I try and limit most of the things he does so he doesnt exhaust himself or get hurt.. I'm sure it gets very frustrating sometimes...

I need kids like you guys...two weeks ago I ran a trencher 480 feet, then augered 2 holes 24 inches around and 4 feet deep, and set steel for a high school score board, last week I augered 7 holes 10 inches by 3 feet deep and set signs for a different high school, this week drove posts for traffic signs at the second high school and yesterday spent most of the day in my bucket truck repairing parking lot lights and when I wasn't digging I was on the roof of a new steakhouse running accent lighting. 96 degrees on a white roof with the sun shining is not a pleasant place to be.
I guess I should be happy I can still do all of this but somedays it just plain hurts and at 55 it hurts more then it did at 45 or even 50....
Memike has it right though, take your time and it'll get done..nice job Mike!!!

It kinda reminds me of the story about the 2 bulls overlooking the cows in the valley. (I'll clean it up a little) The young bull says to the old one, "Dad let's run down there and nab us one of those cows". The old one says, " Son let's walk down, and nab them all". :cheers:

That is the secret to it I guess goldfish the older we get the smarter we get :happy10: and doing things for my self is good for me and makes me feel good, But when I do hurt something my family hurts for me and I get a little short, so to speak :angry7:

I am blest with a great family that love's and care's about me , but like your dad I do get tired of them asking what I am doing and say No! you don't need to be doing that.
and I show them I need this dun even if it takes me a week to get it dun, I need to stay busy even if I do look silly walking Buddy around and picking up trash on my road :toothy10:

I use to install Rapid Roof and it is white, Blinding and hot but I bet if you did not have it to do you would find something to do to keep you busy I bet you are one that would be harder to stop working then it would be to get a lazy man to get of his butt and go to work 8) some times hurting feels good as long as it's just using muscles I have not used :cheers: But it's the other times when I hurt more then just my muscles that brings me down for a few weeks and can't enjoy doing anything, not even house work.8)

I got to walk about 3 miles today and drove in town and seen my son and a friend :happy10: I have an E body Barracuda/ Challenger steering wheel I told him to let me sell it here for him before he put's it up for grabs in E-Bay

The first couple of years all he talked about was wanting to die, when he said "bang-bang" I knew what he meant... Hes finally accepted the fact that he'll never drive or do most of the stuff he did before.. I try and take him out as much as I can so he doesnt have to sit and look at the walls all day...

Great job Mike. I usually don't connect pvc directly to a yard hydrant but, if I have to, I use the pvc fitting with the metal threads or Sch 80 fittings.

I do to, I put one in at my old home and used 1'' galvanized 12'' long nipple rapped it in tar paper to the 90 degree and install the frost free hydrant and used a cardboard box around the 12'' nipple about 10''square and fill it with concrete :happy10:
I am eliminating this one that someone put it before I moved here, there is another one just 40' feet from it in my front yard. I will mark this hole with sand and a little bit of old house paint mixed together if I ever need this supply again 8)

It was last Sunday and cloudy 8) and it sure felt good walking in out of the 90 degree weather and in to 74 in the house to enjoy a frosted mug :happy10:
