Take it back for a refund.:wack:
The refund rules are changing as the quality goes down.
I bought a joystick from a local chain for one of my favorite airplane games (which I almost never play games) but this one was old school biplane dogfights.
The rudder control was non functional so the right rudder wouldn't work at all.
(rudder controls was why I bought it in the first place)
Took it back and the people at the store told me "NO refunds on software".
I told them the software was never opened because I always download the latest drivers from the manufacturers website.
They said "no, we call the joystick itself software, and there are no return on software".
I'm like WTF?
I tell them to plug it into a computer and see what windows says, it says "Found new hardware"
Not just MS products but ALL operating systems find "NEW HARDWARE"
They absolutely would not budge on it, and also told me there were no managers on site to talk to about it.
Well, I took my brand new broken joystick outside and stood in front of their door explaining to everyone who was going in that any computer hardware they bought there was considered software by that store (not anyone else) and that since they call it software they will not refund for broken or non functional peripherals.
What do you know, three (THREE!) managers come out to threaten me about being on their property and how they can call the police and have me removed.
I tell them to go ahead and do it, so they did.
The officers showed up and asked me whats going on and I tell them while stopping mid sentence and asking them to excuse me a minute and still explaining to people going in.
I was surprised about that part, as I figured they would put a stop to that first thing but they were very patient and polite about being interrupted and let me keep talking to people about the return policy the store had.
Occasionally I would tell them I couldn't understand why the store would have a problem with someone pointing out their own return policy unless it was going to cause a problem with the customers, and if that was the case then the customers had a right to know in advance before they made the same mistake I made.
While the police were there one of the managers apologized and handed me a gift card, but I ripped it in half and threw it in the trashcan by the front door asking him why I would EVER want to have anything from that store again, and that I sure wouldn't do that to anyone I knew.
I thought one of the officers was going to bust out laughing, but I acted totally serious and calm about the question, and asked why I would do that to someone.
After about 40 minutes they very politely told me that they would be back in a 30 min or so to make sure I had left the property.
I was being polite and professional about it the entire time, and I got the impression that they agreed with me, but still had to do what the property owner wanted.
