Have any of you guys used the Laysons lower quarter patch panels? I am considering purchasing the left and right lower panels for my '65 Valiant project and I am curious about their quality as far as fit and gauge. The patch I need isn't real big. I could probably make them on my own but if the shape and quality is worth it I don't mind spending the money and saving time.

Also, have any of you bought anything at all from Layson? What are they like to deal with if you run into any issues?

Thank you.
Jason

If they are the galvanized steel patch panels I would save my money and make them yourself. You will end up spending more time trying to make them fit than it would be to just make them.
Sometimes those are all you can get but I wouldnt use them unless there were no other options.

Check with Classic Industries as they usually have them. They run sales a few times a year.

Laysons has a reputation for taking money on parts they don't have in stock and stringing people along. Many, many complaints about that.
Personally, I bought 68 cuda tail light bezels from them and was sent scratched and dinged up show displays in 1966 cuda TL boxes. l complained saying I didn't want scratch and dent specials at full price. I returned them and was out $85 for restocking and shipping. I saved all the emails where they flat out lied to me.
Another Barracuda Buddy bought gen 2 cuda tail lights from them and on his first ride, one came apart, fell off the car, and was run over by a following car. They did not stand by their POS product so he got screwed too.
I haven't bought a cotter pin from them since.

I used theirs on my Dart. Heavy gauge metal and nice fit. The body shop was impressed. I will post some pics in a short.

Sheetmetal is only as good as the company that produces them, has them made.
If there is a problem with any product, it is up to the vendor to make it right if something is indeed wrong.

I used them in my dart. The bottom edge is a bit wavy but they work.

You can get them from Summit, Jegs, anywhere. They are good heavy steel and from Goodmark fit great.

I had to wait 6 months for the vendor I used to make it. Think it was Goodmark. Then it sat in the garage several years before I found a body man who would use the entire patch. It worked great. Right rear wheel house.

I would not hesitate to buy anything from Laysons. I have always been satisfied with parts from Laysons. Plus, if there is a problem, you know they will take care of it.

I used them on both quarters on my 65 Valiant Convertible and my body man commented that they were better than the original material. I have had good service from Laysons and being in Canada that is not always the case getting shipments from the U.S.

On the downhill side. RH side, trunk, roof blocked with 220 and guide coat then three coats of epoxy ready for the final 400. There are a few small things to fix but they are minor. The hood is needing more blocking and the LH side is going to get a 220 with guide coat tomorrow. Going to get adult beverages in the Dart.
