Leaf Springs??

Hi guys,

Was looking at the suspension on the dart today and it is most definatly suspect :sad2:

Its got the strangest looking Leaf Springs on with Air Shocks!!

Would someone be able to post a pic of what the leaf springs should look like on a 67 dart for me??

I do not have a picture of a Dart sitting correct, but the sill plate, (The part under the door) should be level with the ground front to rear. It may not be a perfect level, but to the eye it should be very close.

Around these parts, shocks are a lot like cam choices and underwear.
Good reveiws I have read from Edelbrocks to KBY's er, KYB's,? (So glad I purchased a set, LOL.) Alot is how you like the ride to feel.

Still waiting for the new Fuel Tank to arrive so the dart is just sitting there atm.

The leaf springs have this weird angle piece jutting out of them and dont look like any spring i can find so i think they are wrong or someone has hacked them up in the past.

The Air shocks have made the ride VERY hard which im not to keen on either.

Would these shocks be ok to just bolt on or will I have to get a harder spring to match?? Im getting new springs soon anyhow so.....

Those are drag shock Nick. They allow a fast rate of weight transfer to the rear and a better bite for the rear wheels.
What you would/should see when there used is the rear of the car rise high and the tires palnt to the floor with the leaf springs bending.
I have heard of people making use of them on there street car, but it is not recomended.
A standard replacement shock is a better choice unless you have some real serious power you want to show off.
A regular set of (For example) Monroes gas charged shocks would do well.
An upgrade would be what I mentioned above.

OK great. Let me know what happens. Also, what they charge you for shipping across the pond if you so get charged. This would be interesting to know.
