I take an injectable medication that is one of the push button injectors. to save space in my Sharps container, I have been removing the glass vial / needle from the plastic parts. I discovered one of them has a long spring that is the perfect diameter for light bulb holders. Not all injectors use the same OD spring.

They are much too long for most applications but you can cut them and shape the cut end to suit your need.

I know you can but parts but I have found many of the springs are too short for our OEM sockets the 67&69 Barracuda and 67 dart backup lights have a particularly long bulb holder.

Just use an abundance of caution around the sharps (especially if they are not yours)

Only car guys think like this. Genius.

I tend top think pretty far outside the box to the point people who know me get annoyed!

I was walking through a Meineke parking lot and saw a small broken piece of plastic. At work we were having a problem with getting our product laminated but still having a path to attach electrical wires. That little broken bit of plastic and my outside the box thinking came up with the solution...

Punch a hole into the upper layers of the lamination stack up

Insert a Teflon disk and laminate

Remove the Teflon disk and there you are, bare conductor to solder leads to. The disks were reusable too!

(This is the actual broken bit of plastic I found and my first attempt at the solution!)

I miss the days. Hardware stores used to have boards with sample springs, both tension and compression, and you could "usually" find anything you need, even if you had to put one inside another, etc.

Yep, it`s why I save ALL springs, have a big coffee can full of them, they`ll come in handy "some day" lol
