limited slip differential help

i need help on identifying what year this limited slip differential is. it was given to me . i was told it was fron an 8.25 which is what i need, came out of a station wagon of some sort. today i was browsing FABO and came across a thread talking about a few different 3rd members in the 8.25. that made me wonder if what i have will work in my rear end. i have a 73 dart sport 8.25 rear with 3.21 ,i'm looking to put 3.55 or 3.90 in. the only #'s on this unit are 18-05-0391-903. can any one help to identify.

Well not trying to be a jerk but posi's came in GM cars. Mopars have limited slip differentials, let's just clarify that first. What you have there is a run of the mill cone type limited slip differential, what year or even what differential it's for I can't be sure. Measure the ring gear mounting area, it should be right at 8 inches.

It should work for you though no matter what year it is. I know some of the later 8.25 rears were really 8.375 but I think everything interchanges.

...................Some came on 2.45 gears, they r specific to that gears set, not sure what the difference is..............kim....................
