So, playing with the timing. Just Advanced it some. What do you guys think about the location of #1 on that Cap? Isn't it too far to the right? Thoughts?

All depends where the tang/rotor are clocked, and where the oil pump drive gear is...

Yea, I set it all up properly. Rotated that drive gear in properly at TDC
Move each plug wire one position, then move the distributor back. fixed. Also, it doesn't matter always where the gear is "properly". the tang matters just as much

Thanks Tim. So you saying that the Tang must point right at #1 on the cap right? I'm going to check it a little later

The tang at the bottom of the distributor may not line the rotor in the same position. In your case, I'd just pull #2 wire and put #1 plug wire in it's place and then move the rest one over. Then you'll have to move the dizzy back to that space, then it will look more "normal to you".

What if the Rotor doesn't point to exactly at one of the cap wire prongs. If you look at the Dizzy, you see the mark on the bottom (red)of the housing? That's where the rotor pointed when the Dizzy was set in place. Like it was off a tiny bit

You... watched the video?? It plainly shows that where the gear points isn't where the rotor will always point.

Mine is not way off. It's off just a tiny bit. I'm hoping one tooth on the gear and it will line up

Drill a hole in the top of the cap inboard of #1. Shine the timing light with the engine running and you will see the rotor phasing.

Yea, it fires right up, but there is a stumble. I'm hoping it's related to this.
What's your timing set at? Or what was your timing set at? A few degrees of timing won't cause a stumble.

So, I can't find the mark properly. but I believe it's about 10 degrees BTDC
