Looking for a 6.4 Hemi

-
A friend of mine at Bouchillon Performance.com has them. Looks kinda pricey to me. Check him out he may be able to help. If you call ask for Charlie.

I just read postings on the charger site, that the late 5.7 (2009-2014) as well as the 6.4 were NOT great candidates for dropping in our A-Bodies or trucks. That the theft alarms, throttle control make it difficult to use in other cars. Like my intentions of using a manual, like Passon's 5-speed, or the 518-A 90's transmissions, or torque flight, these transmission would not be useable. I guess this question is aimed at Moder Muscle as he seems to have a lot of experience here.

If you are trying to use all the factory components out the the car or truck, Yes that is the difficult part that was the reason for my earlier post, But we do have a solution to make it all work that does not break the bank.

So if you can get your hands on the motor and truck trans it will work we have been using 09+ Hemi motors for years now in our builds even the new 392.

Wow Tincup, that is SWEET!! I had a 67 100 longbed 383 truck that I replaced with a 440. One of my best trucks with sweet memories. Always wanted it to be a short bed but could never find the right components. Finally sold it when a genuine Lil Red Express came along. The 67 had way more character!

This was all just before the new Gen. Hemis came along. The lessor weight of the Gen3 will be killer compared to the big ol' 440. Personally, I'd suggest a 6.1 in there. That would be way plenty HP and torque for that lil truck. A 392 would be crazy in there. Although, crazy can be a lot of fun!

Seriously though, a 6.1 would be much less of a pain in the butt to get up and running and still be overkill in that truck. You'll enjoy the end result either way. Good luck / have fun...

Been looking, doesn't seem to be many 6.1s out there. The one's I did find are the same price as the 6.4. I am really leaning towards a 03-06 Gen 3 Viper.
