There seems to be a lot of play in the steering, any advice on aftermarket or OEM replacement parts? Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

I agree, the coupler looks to have a loose retainer and seal but it may not be the problem. I would also check all the steering linkages and idler arm. The steering box can also cause looseness. It is likely to be a combination of things.

You need to get yourself a helper and take a look "stem to stern." Get someone to move the wheel back and forth. Then look from the column / coupler right on down the system. Look for movement between the two shafts, side play in the steering shaft in the box. Then get yourself where you can see both the steering shaft and the pitman arm and look for relative movement between the two. Look for side play and up/ down play in the pitman. Look for play between the pitman arm and the ball stud. Look for movement of the steering box relative to the K member.

Continue on. Look for movement side/ side and up/ down in the pivots on the idler arm, and on to all 4 tie rod ends.

Then get a service manual (download, free, MyMopar.com) and look up in there how to test the ball joints for movement/ wear.

Check the wheel bearings, and DON'T forget to even check wheels for tight and out of true!!

And bear in mind that "it adds up." Often, sloppy steering feel is cumulative from wear of two or more parts
