main bearings

gotta get a set of main bearings in the ol 383, would these be ok?
it says for cast cranks, not steel. is there a difference?

tom hoover used to say: hard bearings on a soft crank-soft bearings on a hard crank.

so hard crank being forged? what would a "soft bearing be?

King bearings are very high quality, and those will work with any crank material.

cast crank block #3 thrust bearing has a larger thrust surface and will not fit in a forged crank block.

I think all the bearing sets (modern made) use the smaller thrust bearing size - so they fit all blocks.
