Curious on opinions and/or experience with the Mallory HyFire VI. verses the MSD 6 Plus. I currently have both on the shelf and close to installing the ignition on my 71 Demon 340 project. The car is intended for drag race use only. Thanks FABO.

I'd punt that MSD into the river and never look back. I'm making the ASSumption that you have the 685 box.

All I use is Mallory. I buy that stuff for pennies on the dollar at swap meets.

The Mallory stuff has always been better. Even proved it on the dyno. More than once.

Yes - The Mallory is a 685. Seems to have the same features as the MSD 6 Plus but has LED displays for settings as opposed to the micro rotory switches.

I just bought an analog HyFire VII box for my cousin with the coil for $50 bucks. He has less than $300 bucks in his entire ignition system, including the plug wires.

BTW, all his barstool warming know it all buddies told him at that price the box was junk.

It starts better. Runs better. Does everything better.

Moral of the story: don't build your car listening to drunken idiots.
