Ok, here goes. I have a 1957 Dodge Powerwagon W-100 4x4 with 7.5' bed (long bed). The short bed was 6.5'. This was the first year of the civilian powerwagons and in my opinion the coolest. This Power Giant 4x4 is a VERY RARE truck, HOWEVER, it is not original, far from it. If you do some research, you will find out how rare these trucks are.

I have taken out the original bench and put in two buckets.

I removed the old 4 speed manual and installed a Hurst floor shift, short shaft 727 transmission that has been professionally rebuilt with stage 2 shift kit and 2500 stall which was professionally built. Tranny cooler on radiator. The tranny was built to withstand over 550 horsepower, which is good because I also replaced the stock v8 motor.

Original motor was a 315. I replaced the motor with a big block mopar 383 with 11.5 to 1 compression, Offenhauser high rise with dual carbs (600 cfm carters, one with electronic choke), headers, Isky adjustable rockers, hi torque mini starter, etc, etc. It was built by a local builder with 30 years experience building motors (I lost his number and will look for the build sheet, but I may not be able to find it. He estimated its power at 500 horsepower and 500+ ft lbs of torque (I have never had it on a dyno). It still has Mallory points style distributor, which I was planning on upgrading to electronic but never got around to.

It also has an electronic fuel pump (I was going to use the electronic to assist to a mechanical pump, but right now it is just electronic).

Flex fan and aluminum pulleys
Bed of truck is Diamond plated aluminum (but I may remove and put in wood).
Gas tank has been removed and replaced with a race ready foam-filled fuel cell in the bed of the truck (have the original tank still).
The front end and rear end were removed and replaced with a Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear (I drove it with this running gear before I did the motor swap). Still has the stock transfer case which is very strong, but just in case, I have a spare np 205 that will go with the truck if you pay a respectable price.
I have 33" tires on it now that have been sitting on the truck for the last few years and you can see the letters starting to run, but the tread is great and I pulled the tires and ran them on my Ford for a few months and they did great.
Truck has power steering, new gauges for oil, temp, and alt. Fuel gauge works but is not hooked up. I have a tachometer that I haven't installed yet.

It is in primer and will need some sanding prior to paint. I have the paint which is black and a matte sheen. I pulled the badges on the outside to prepare for paint, but I have the badges including a couple 383 badges to add to it.
I also pulled all the carpet out of the truck and have coated the inside with por-15 (which is AWESOME). I was planning on coating the interior with a bed liner so I could just spray it out when done taking it off road.
I also have some parts that will go with it if we can agree on a price. I have a brand new in the package Lokar kickdown cable, New U-joints, New Ubolts for u joints (also some heavy duty u joint caps for strength, NP 205 transfer case, 2 electric fans both out of 3.0 liter ford Taurus, new seat belts never installed, exhaust, traction bars, original gas tank, and I'm sure some other stuff.

The things it needs:
Passenger side door glass has crack, but is flat and an easy replace (I got a quote for $50 for the glass).
I intended to do a 4 link in the front, but never got around to it.
The alternator needs to be wired in (I may get to this before it sells as it won't take long at all), also needs new power steering pump lines (they leak), it has been sitting a few years since I did the motor swap, but I put in fuel stabilizer and I start it up every once in a while and move it, but honestly I scare the neighbors when I put my foot in it. It has open headers right now, so you can imagine how loud it is. It needs a low profile air cleaner on the rear carb as well.
It will drive, but it will need to be trailered or towed. There are some things to do to it before you drive it on the street. Brakes are up, but I was going to flush the brake lines to be safe. Also, the truck needs to be gone over and double check all connections, welds and bolts, etc to make sure it is safe. 500 horsepower is a lot to handle, so to be safe it will need to be looked over. I was planning on installing some safety switches in the cab, but haven't done that yet. You can manually shut the fuel pump off with a switch in the cab, but I haven't installed other shut offs yet.

To say I have put a ton of time, energy and money into this project, would be an understatement. When I got the truck, it was bone stock. I have owned this truck since I first started to drive (that's right, it was my first vehicle ever. I will sorely miss it, but I haven't been giving it the time it deserves. My family and business take all my time, and I am happy to give it, but my truck has been getting jealous and I think she needs someone else to make her happy. I know how rare these trucks are and what these trucks are going for, and I know how much I have put into it. I also know that it still needs some work and is still a project. If the truck was done, I would be selling it for twice as much. You won't find another one quite like this.

For those of you wondering, I've already sold the original 315 v8, the original trans, and the original running gear. I have the original gas tank and a few other odds and ends that I have removed over the years, and the buyer is welcome to have those.

Also, I never had any intention of making this a trailer queen or of having an original condition pickup. I was building this to drive hard and take off road in the mud and do some crawling if the mood caught me, I just never got the time to finish it, and I doubt I will get the time in the near future.
I don't need to sell it, but I also don't want to see it sit.

$9500 OBO. I will throw in the brand new parts for it as well. If you have any questions, please let me know. I will do my best to answer them.

I know money is tight, so I will consider trades or part trades. Unfortunately, I do not have the time for projects, which is the reason why this is listed. I am looking for a 4x4 rig that is trail ready and capable with working seat belts for my family. It needs to be at least a 4 seater (International Scout, Bronco, 4-Runner, Travelall, etc, etc). I will also consider other trades, so please feel free to let me know what you have. Thanks so much for reading my book length ad.

i love all mopars but 9500 will buy you a very nice a body this truck needs a lot of cake to finish.if this was posted in canada i would blame it on the oxycontin.jmo

If it's not original, with a ton of aftermarket & orphan parts piled on it, it's not so rare is it?

Actually, the long bed version of that truck had a 9 ft bed, not 7.5 ft. I have a 1960 Version of the same truck, no modifications. Stock. and yes, its pretty rare.
