ok, what do you guys think ....lame idea or something that might be cool?

has anyone ever tried to put the super bee scoops on the side of a 69 dart.

I am not trying to make a car into something its not but I cant help think that a 69 dart has a similar profile to its larger sibling, the super bee.

So would it be lame to enhance the profile with a borrowed styling feature from big sibling

If not the whole scoop at least the indentations, because the scoop was actually optional on the super bee and some cars had them and some did not.

I like it! Your car do with it what you please. I am leaning to the scoop myself.

I think it's a cool idea and very much " in period" type of enhancement. My only concern is the actual size of the scoops in relation to the size of the car, in other words it's about the size proportions, the scoops might seem to large on the dart.

I think it would look lame myself.......
One thing i noticed when i had a '69 Super Bee with them on it is that they look very similar to the factory dual snorkel hood scoop on my Dart Sport, just smaller.

I think either would be interesting. Now get to weldin.

What do you think of '70 side scoops or '70 Charger front scoops?

I don't mind the idea and it might break up that "slab sided" look and give it some curves.

Seems like it could be cool.

I am pretty low tech when it comes to this (a real trial and error type)
To get the scoops I would make a paper, or cardboard tracing then Run that through the old photo copier at various reduction percentages to get different sized templates. After I might pick the top 3 of the bunch to mock up using sheet metal.

I hope you pursue it and post the progress.

What's next a Superbird wing!?!? :happy1:

They would look way too big IMO.

personally, I don't think it would like right. I never cared for the side scoops on the Bee either.
the dart has such clean lines as is, sort of like the 68-70 charger. people asked the mopar stylists why no hood scoop on that charger. they said a s coop would hurt the clean lines of the car.?? I always thought a very low wide scoop would have worked on it. but they were really selling that charger as a upscale road car not a boy racer type?????

Maybe the indentations but, not liking the scoops. My opinion is the scoops would be too gaudy. Again though, just my .02.

As mentioned, your car do what is in your heart with it!

Yes Indentations, no scoops. As has been said sizing will be key. Make sure we see some pics if you start!

If you're going to do it, make them functional brake ducts.

I don't know this seems to work just fine. I also think the air dam works as well.

personally i'm not feeling it. but who the hell am i... try it. an always change it back..

I loved my 69 Bee without the scoops and like a couple others, I believe the size diff from a B-body to the A-body would make them way to large. IF you could down size them someway then why not do it after-all it is YOUR car. Do what ever floats your boat and to hell with what others think. That's the whole purpose of what we do isn't it? Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
