Mini Tub or Not?

-
The thing about tubbing a car is..it better go as good as it looks, always get a laugh out of the tubbed cars at the track running 12's and 13's:toothy10::toothy10::toothy10:

The silver Valiant stood on the bumper last night, Twice on the same run.

Not my car, belongs to a friend.

That 318 I'm going to get with the 4 speed and 3.91s I don't think would have enough power to make it into the 13s but maybe with the super charger I plan on adding.......:burnout:

How bout mini tubing it now for future plans. Keep regular size tires on it for now but for future up grades in drive train, I already have the space to put bigger meats back there. How would that look?:-k

Tub it ..... I assume if you ever for some unknown reason wanted it back stock looking then just put the old wheels and tires back on .

Thats alright, I'm running a 318, 4 speed with 3.91s right now in my Duster, lol. I'm building a 360-400HP 360 on the cheap for it though to tide me over till I can build a stroker 408 for the car in a couple years. I needed tires and rims for the car so I figured I'd just do it now. If you ever think you"ll want it, do it now thats its stripped!!!!!!!

Yes that is a VERY long thread at Moparts about the engine. According to what was said the new car MPH, better than his old Demon in the 1/8. The Demon went 133-134 MPH in the 1/4.

That is Ron's Valiant seen it run at Irwindale last Thursday needs a little work keeping the front end down. Ron is a nut for detail and yes his car is amazing.

Looks like maybe he is done over at moparts, maybe he will join this forum and share some of his work.

I say tub it if your not working with a original 340 or big block car!

I noticed both Ron and Sloan had new names over there. That place has a way of chasing people off.

I commited to NOT mini-tubbing my Duster because I love the fold down backseat and trunk divider. So I went Caltracs and 275's.

you dont have to tub to go 10s. im not crazy about tubbed cars. i like mini tubed but i really like fast cars with little tires. besides little tires are cheaper anyway. i have 255 on my 69 dart and 245 all around on my duster. im a welder so its not an issue for me to do it.

id say do it it wont be noticable with a stock set up and if you ever change your mind just move the springs in and get some meats!
