Mopar engine differences

-
I could be wrong but a 440 and 426 Weg is a Raise block (RB) and not called a Big Block (BB), the 426 Hemi is a class of its own. Don't forget the 413 RB.

B and RB are both commonly referred to as "big blocks", it's a colloquial term. OEMs never really officially used the terms "small" or "big" block.

I've seen 2G Hemi referred to as the "big block Hemi" which it basically is, 426 RB with Hemi heads.

The OP is probably not as old as I am, but never feel bad about asking good questions.

After 50 odd years playing with many old Mopars I have found that there is still lots to learn and half what I did know, I have forgotten and part of whatI did know was wrong!! :BangHead:

So what do you call it when ya buy a used 289 long block from the Ford guy and it ends up with NO intake, timing cover, water pump, dipstick , dist.hold down, exh man. engine mounts. etc etc>>>>>>>I call it a pain in the *** and getting expensive!! :BangHead:
