Yesterday a guy saw my Dart sitting out in the driveway and he stopped to BS.
He was driving a white 70 swinger slant 6 and it was in not too bad of shape for it's age.
When he bought it, it had some head/valve issue's but he got that done and said it runs just fine now.
The interior is in really good original condition, but one thing he needs is green defroster vents.
(if he stays green of course)
It has light surface rust and a few dents and dings here and there but nothing that looked hard or expensive to fix.

Get this, he got it off Craigslist for 1,500 :D
I told him I would have paid that for the front clip for my 73.

It's funny how that works. I was working on mine about 2 weeks ago and had a gold 74 dart 2 door pull in my driveway. Guy was just out cruising in the country. 318 4 speed car. Pretty nice. I didn't think to grab a picture or two.

Yeah, usually the only time I see other Mopars (other than modern ones) in the wild it's at Car Shows. There's a few Mopars in my neighborhood but that's VERY FEW. There's far more early Mustangs or Chevy's around. Damn it Chrysler, you should have made more cars!!

I used to do that. Until one day I pulled into a guys place when he was working on a dart and he did everything besides call the cops on me. Now I just harass people about their a bodies in public places :)

Got to be leary these days for sure.

I live in a small country town in BFE so it's not a huge deal. plus there was something that can project a .45 in diameter projectile at 900 ft per second not far from my hands ;)

There's a pretty original Demon running around my town as I've seen it twice now. I'm never in my Dart when I see it and I don't want to be one of those guys who always comes up to me and tells me about this great car they have at home!

8 years ago I was underneath my old 72 T&C wagon. A guy pulls in in a little tin can Toyota and gets out carrying a little dog. Starts talking mopars and tells me about his 26,*** mile 69 R/T super track PAC car( stroke, stroke, stroke) yeah OK PAL. Two nights later under the wagon again I heard the over geared big block rumbling in the drive. I about **** when that little dog jumped out. Turns out me and the owner are still good friends today. One or two nights later in rumbles a 66 hemi charger 54,*** original. Silver w/ red interior gorgeous. It was an exciting week!

And this just happened, a coworker walking by here at my new job, noticed by screen saver of my dart...He then showed me pictures of his 1968 dart 2 door, alpine white with a 413/727 conversion out of a new yorker in it.. Score!

I don't know Brian, I don't think I could keep it to myself if I had your car. :D
Love it. (and it's why I razz you about it not being back on the road again yet.)
I know what you mean though, as it just happened to me again the other day.
Older guy stops and gets out of his 200? buick and tells me all about the mopars he used to have.
I don't mind too much if I'm not busy, but I'm busy a lot.

The one HUGE mistake I made when I talked to the guy with the 70 Dart was not asking the guy if he wanted to double his money right then and there.
Coulda kicked myself for that. :-)
