Thinking real hard about doing the Mopars with Big Daddy show.
How big of a show is it? Is it worth the drive down from Ohio? What's the swap meet look like?

Look for posts from previous years on the different mopar websites. maybe there are attendance records from the hosting clubs website. everyones opinion differs, I have not been there in a few year.

I missed last year, but the year before was great. I's guess around 40-50 vendors and regular guys like Rat Rod Al brought a ton of parts for all years. Many quality cars in the show, including DemonX2's perfect '71 Demon. There were also many rare AMC cars, and some great Mopar trucks, too. Medical and family events allowing, I'll be there this year. Easy access for you guys with trailers, and many reasonable hotels nearby.

I've never been, but I have local friends that go and they always say it's purdy dang good. Sides, he ain't gonna be here forever. It'd be cool to meet the old fart. I met him in the 80s at a small SEMA type show in Atlanta. He was one of the cool guys. Invited us in and sat around with us a good little while.

Went the first four or five years, from ‘88 on and we had a good time. Sold some parts including my old front engine dragster to Don and one of his friends.

Got some great pictures of the boys with Don. Enjoy the show.

This will be the first time I will miss it in about 6 years, wife scheduled a vacation down to Cabo at the same time. I drove every year from Chicago and it was always worth my time. What's not to like about getting out of the great white north for a week in Florida when it is about to become nasty and you get to see Mopar stuff and hang out on the beach the rest of the week?

Our Mopar club helped in starting the show, The Florida Mopar Connection, along with other Florida Mopar clubs, forming, The Florida Mopar Association, FMA. I have attended the first several years, as a certified Mopar judge. Many fine cars and a large vending set-up. If you need something, they have it or can get it for you, just ask. If anyone from afar wants to make the trip, make it a week one. The following weekend there is another large Mopar Show a mile away from the Garlits show. Don is a "Good Old Boy" and likes to talk.

Whoa...whoa!! Thx for the compliment Paul but there are certainly cars there a lot nicer than my heap! I like all of the cars there. And there are some really beautiful A-bodies for sure!! And a lot of B-bodies and E-bodies that really float my boat too. I'm not much into the newer stuff (ok, ok...not into it at all!) but some people are and there are plenty of those there too.

As for the show, it makes for an enjoyable 2 days to see great cars and friends and acquaintances that perhaps we only see there once a year. For this year, I am contemplating taking the avatar on Saturday and the 71 on Sunday. The avatar is no show car but it's a bit different being a Demon and mostly a strip car that gets driven on the streets in the summers (no racing in Florida in the summers). Just not sure about stirring up all that dust with the mufflers on it since they make us park the trailers way out in a big dusty field with 15" tall grass and full of dirt. Nothing like picking bales of hay out of your car and having to wipe down every surface after you get over to the show field!!

2026 is supposed to be the 50th anniversary of the museum so the car show/swap meet may attract more people than usual.

Don't know if I will make it, just Friday or not at all.:(

Never been to the show but, went through the museum back in '95. It was super cool!! I'm sure its even better now.
