Ignition box went out at the track yesterday. Fun, fun, fun.
Nuthin funner than having to winch your Cuda back on the Trailer. :BangHead:

Have to replace the MSD 6SC Ignition box, but nothing on MSD website.
I thought I saw an MSD 6SC1 but cannot find that now.
What would be a great alternative? Not looking to totally rewire everything, just replace the box.

Sent the ignition box back to MSD for repair.
They'll never fix an MSD SC. They do not stock the parts. They are obsolete.

Call them and do a progress check. You will find they have rejected it.
They only rebuild 6, 6ALs and 7ALs seems.
They will send it back for free, however.

My opinion: MSD repair service sucks. I had a MSD 7 that crapped out after many years of use. Called MSD to see about repair. They said "no way, parts not available". An electronic hobbyist friend offered to take a look at it. Had a bad transistor, which he replaced, for a total cost of about $25.00 parts and labor. Why would MSD want to repair a device, with not much profit in it, when they can say parts not available, and sell you a new unit at a ridiculous mark up.

MSD never sent the box back, despite requesting. Over a month now.
There are other places that will repair MSD ignition boxes, I am told.

There are a couple of places that will repair those boxes other than MSD. I haven't had to have an MSD box repaired for a while but I didn't use Tech West.

Not because they cant do it or anything like that. It was because they were so far behind. Like 12 weeks or something.

I'll see if I can figure out who I used.

Wow, 12 weeks. Good call to move on.
I think MSD could have repaired my box, just didnt wanna deal with it.

Are you and Allen Johnson still talking?

Not in a while. He’s not racing and I don’t go to the track much any more.

If he went back to Pro Stock or some class that runs at the Seattle Nationals I’d go for that.

Allen and Roy are two very nice people.
