My 1973 Dodge Dart Sport Project

-
By the way, in one of the above pictures I took of the rear interior, there is a gap between the rear window and the back seat. WHAT GOES THERE??? It's been driving me nuts, there has to be some kind of panel that goes there. if so, where can I get one?

Probably has the fold down rear seat. There is an open space between the package tray and the top of the seat back. It's supposed to be like that.

This pic? Perfectly normal.

Well, I couldn't sleep so I decided to upload my pictures now. I know you guys have all seen transmissions, and this probably isn't all that exciting but it is to me. My dart actually shifts now, and has reverse! lol

Some more pictures of the transmission install. Neutral safety is shot, wasn't connected in the first place. means I have no reverse lights, which I never noticed, because I didn't have revers :p

Here are some pictures of the dart after the install was done. I worked through the night. It didn't take too long, but I went to the races before I started, so I got a late start lol. Took the car around town. Shifts great.

Video here, backing out of the garage. First time this car has gone in reverse in years.

Took some pictures of the interior today. I replaced the clear plastic oil pressure line with a nice copper line. I had air bubbles in the line, so I was getting sparatic readings… Sometimes 20ish psi, sometimes 0 lol. With the new line in, I get 25 psi at idle, and 50 psi @35 mph. I gutted the trunk, the panels were torn to hell.

While gutting the trunk I ran into some odd loose connections. Also, while working tonight, for no reason at all, my dome light stopped working, and my gauge lights worked (my gauge lights haven't worked since I bought the car… I'm hoping some of you can tell me what some of those connections are. I also found that right next to my battery there was a box that had a wire going to the battery. I extended that wire, it was stretching to reach the battery lol. I would label which pictures are which, but I'm not sure how to put text between the pictures...

Got her washed up and waxed. Vacuumed out, glass cleaned, leather seats cleaned, dash and door panels washed up. She cleans up pretty good!

Man, I wish I had that car instead of mine. A new vinyl top, good buff job on the paint, and a new set of stripes would really set that unit apart from the crowd!

EDIT: Heck I didnt even look at the last post where you washed it. Guilty again. Ill re-phrase: A new vinyl top would really set that unit apart from the crowd!

Hmm, the other pics didn't upload. All well, here they are! Thanks guys, she could still use a good buffin, but she's pretty clean. The new top is definitely on my list, just makin her mechanically sound first

Great looking Dart Sport! That fold down rear seat will come in handy when you go to swap meets and extra room for kids stuff behind back seat:) and other things LOL had one in my Duster in high school. She looks good!!

She does clean up rather well. Looking good. I have a spare back seat if you need one. Mine won't be going back in for some reason.:coffee2:
