My son and my tools...

-
When I was growing up my old man would find his tools in the yard and tell me that if I planted them they won't grow trees. So buy my own and quit trying to plant ratchet trees with his as seed.

It sounds like you had a pretty understanding pop ramenth. My step dad would have whipped our behinds with his belt all the way through the yard and back. There would be no talking.

I remember two spankings in my life, one from Pop, one from Momma. Pop didn't get upset much, prefering to chill over little things. When we worked together I remember one argument on how we should do something, but for five years of business ownership together we made the decisions together and progressed forward together. He did pay me back on the tools, though. When it was time to pack up for the day and go home, where would I find my tools? Usually in the parking lot where he was working.

Great posts people. My hat's off to y'all.

At 42 and still single, never been married and no kids (that I know of), I'm too old and set in my ways to start a family. The way this world's going and fast, I'm not too sure I'd want to raise kids anyways. Hey more money for car stuff!

And although my dad's never been a car guy, he's never stifled my interests. Last Saturday he started re-wiring the shop I'm renting (dad's a retired electrician). He told me that I'm lucky the place hasn't burned down with the shoddy wiring that's in there. A few days later he went in for some back surgery. Gotta love the old man.

Cheers,
Wylde1

my sons 2 and I learn to put the hammers away after he decided to take one to the car, should have known he watches to much manny when he was hitting the dart going pat..pat..pat...good thing for me hes not strong enough to do too much damage.

My four year old daughter loves car shows, but hates the swaps lol, I just bribe her with candy and popscicles. My 3 yr old son love to drive daddy'd duster and fix it. It feels soooo good to be able to do this since I wasn't allowed in the garage when I was their age.

hehehe....](*,) our son is 21, lives 2 hours away and we are still missing tools every time he comes home.... LOL 8)

In your case, it's GREMILNS. We have them here, too. And don't get me started on the tool fairy. This critter operates similar to the tooth fairy, just too D*&( cheap to leave a quarter under your pillow.

She leaves the quarter underneath the tray in your tool box. That's how all that spare change ends up in there. :-D

idk if i qualify for this I'm 19 and the duster is the first car i ever did i got it wen i turned 15 i qualify my self as a young gun still my dad had 2 dusters in high school wanted to be like him

this reminds me of the time my little girl then 2-3 years old ,was helping me to change a holley on my charger ,after 10 mins i put her in the car she loved pretending to drive while i continued to change the carby, after that i tried starting the car and it would not go, i had spark, i had fuel, and i flattened 3 batteries trying to get it to go, the next day after another 3 hours of trying to get the car to go and i was sitting in it having a smoke, pondering why it wouldnt go, then i looked at my tacho which was a mallory with rev limiter dial, it had been turned down to 900 RPM, allowing my car to have spark but not run, turned the dial and away she went, then i realised there was only one person who touched my tacho, and it was my little girl.

I used to do the exact thing with my dad's tools when I was younger...actually, funny thing...I had the same blue car too!!!!!

LOL I still use my ol mans tools!!! My seven year old came in the shop the other day with this look on his face... I was welding a patch on the drivers fender on the dart. I looked up at him and said can I help you LMBO. He said what are you doing to my car... All i could do was laugh and hug him then explain why I had to put that patch panel there LOL. Kids are fun (sometimes) LOL I have 4 my 11 year old thinks the dart is ugly right now lol
