Jake and his wife drove the 65 to my sister-in-law's this evening. I looked out front from the back yard and see the guy on the left taking pics. So Jake walks over to see if the guy wanted any history on it. Then an older neighbor came out. Theyve been out there for 40 minutes already.

Cool stuff.

That's what I love about this hobby!! Good on Jake for taking the time to talk with them!

Even if folks aren't Mopar guys, they have memories of our cars. It takes them back to a day they enjoyed.

So.... Jake was 14.5 when we let him hand over $800 for it. 2.5 years later it was his daily driver to high school and work. He was the class of 2014. Previous owner swapped the /6 for a 273 about 100 years ago. It was seized up when we drug it home. Initial power plant was a .30 over 318/904 with a 69 340 cam and a 3.55 8-3/4. In 2016-ish, he wanted a little more go power. Stroked an LA 360 with Scat internals and made an aluminum headed 408 and a 727 and as of last winter 3.91 gears. Other than the B&M shifter and a tach strapped to the steering column, the interior looks original. I don't have many pics on my phone of it, but here's what I do have.

The hood - thanks RRR. Drives the E body purists crazy. LOL. Oldman ray (I think that is Ray's id here) donated 2 hoods to the cause. We skinned the original flat hood and the E hood. Made a full steel 65 bulge hood. It does work well with the roundness of the fenders and roof/glass line. It is quite the conversation piece every year at Carlisle.

Awesome machine!! 3.91's out back. How do they do on the highway? I went with that gear myself and just want to get a general idea what their like. My ride is a dodge dart sport 360 stock stroke.
