I was looking through phone at pictures and videos today and tried uploading on to YouTube from my phone for the first time. My son needed an engine so I loaned him my 408 that I pulled from my Duster to rebuild and he fell in love with it. Footbraking at 2400 rpm
he was usually in the low 6.40's with a best of 6.38 through the mufflers at 3200 pounds. At the Mopar race at Keystone he took off the mufflers and at a low rpm used the transbrake and ran a 10.12 quarter mile time. Here's a pass from norwalk footbraking.

That is very stout performance.
Would you care to share some engine details?

Diamond Flat top .030 pistons (360)
K1 4 inch crank
K1 rods
.660 Roller cam ( Now damaged but I'll try to post cam card)
open chamber edelbrock heads with 2.08 valves ported by me
Victor340 intake ported by me
750 alcohol carb
1 7/8 hedmen headers
3200 pound car
727 with 5600 stall
8 3/4 with 4.10 gears

Do you like the open chamber edelbrocks better than the closed chambers?

Is it a quench thing? Please forgive the stupid questions.

Not a stupid question at all. I prefer the closed chamber heads. With that said I bought this set damaged from a Moparts member years ago for 350.00 and ended up porting them for a friend. I had hours in them and like usual he was going to sell them so I bought them back. These were the heads I used for the LD340 post I did on Moparts because at the time that was what he wanted to use. This is actually my best (proven) set of heads that I have and have been passed back and forth between my son and I. They are now on my new 408 in my black duster. My 360-1 heads will be going back on my 422 so this winter I’m going to upgrade on of my other sets of Edelbrocks to copy these as my son wants to race next year. I have a fresh roller cam 360 block waiting

Your Son is kicking ***, question is, is it his motor now?

When I pulled that engine it was in need of rebuild number four. He needed it bad so knowing I was pushing my luck let him use it for the rest of the year. That ended up being three months into the next year before it finally spun a bearing and broke a rod. I was going to junk the block anyway, which I did as it served us well. And the assembly is now in another country cut down to Honda sized rods.

Compression? How much does alcohol pick up over gas on a build like this?

Pistons were advertised at around 11-1 but with the .043 Felpro head gasket, uncut deck, and open chamber heads that knocked it down pretty good. Plus the chamber work I do. People give alcohol more credit than it deserves performance wise. Just for example here’s two different combos

030 over 408 same pistons, rods, block, and crank as the engine above.

this engine started out in my 2860 pound duster. Originally with a set of Econo W2 heads I ported in the 300 cfm area on pump gas running a .520 lift Racer Brown solid lifter cam and it went a best of 9.90

pulled that cam and lifters and installed a .650 lift roller cam, sent the 850 pump gas carb out to APD to have it converted to alcohol. Then I also put on the Edelbrock heads my son was running in the video above. (318 cfm). The W2 engine had a Victor W2 manifold I ported. The second engine had a Victor340 I ported. The best ET in the same car was 9.74. So .15
Faster on alcohol, much bigger roller cam, and better flowing heads.
