My son had a 1974 duster project car that he was forced to abandon. A few months later he bought a 1973 (360) four speed Cuda. He picked up four American wheels for it (sizes in pictures) 6.5 inches for front and 8 inch for back. I’ve been out of the Street scene for to long to recommend tire sized and makes. I recommend he sign up on Ebodiesonly but wanted to pick you guys mind. He doesn’t want a race type radial but does want some hook for the modified engine. Here’s a picture of the wheels and car.

He got a 340 with it and bought another 340 for the duster he had to get rid of so he’s good engine wise. I have a set of Speedmaster heads that I have to finish for him that will be getting a 2.055 valve. He lives in the Denver Colorado area and works at a body shop.
Sounds like he is set! Wish I could find a 340 locally.... lol

With the right back space rim, a 295 clears.
I can measure my 70 Challenger with the wheels on it and give you an idea.

Nice, do you know what shop?

Our season starts pretty soon, know if he has any interest in track time? Our club clash racing is team style racing with two classes, 10-13.99 and 14 and slower. Lots of fun! My team has quite a few Mopar’s, and there is a Mopar only team that I have a lot of friends on as well…if he has any interest just send a PM my way. There’s a Mopar only event first weekend of June with car show and swap meet too.

I sent him this post. Pretty sure he is a member here.

Looks like my car used to. 275 wide is an easy fit in the back. 255/60 fits nice in the front. Wider can be made to fit the rear but you need to move the springs and have the right offset.

275/60-15's for the rear and 235/60-15's for the front. That's what I run on the last few E bodies I've had and they clear well. I do have 245/60-15's on the front of my Challenger conv, but they will rub the frame rail if turned to lock. The only time I've EVER had the 275's rub on the back was when 2 fat girls wanted to ride in it at a car show. I tried to wriggle out of it by pretending the car wouldn't start, but my wife said (with an evil grin on her face) "Honey, did you cut the kill switch off?" :BangHead:

Love the daisies. But if they are the original one piece, they might not have enough backspace to run real big tires.
I would probably run nitto 555 G2 on the front, and nitto 555 RII on the back. They are "drag radials" but not near as soft as a Hoosier or M/T, and should wear better. If the daisies are one piece, 225/60x15s for the front, 275/60x15s for the back.... if they'll fit.(255 for rear might be a better choice, if nitto makes that size in the RII.
