Every Cam manufacturer rec's buying thier springs when using thier Cam?
Can you use your existing springs if the springs are within the specs of the new Cam/ or is it just a good rule of thumb to install new springs with the new Cam?
I only use mech Flat tappet Cams because they fit my skill parameters

You need a spring at your installed height with the same pressures as the cam manufacturer recommends. Lift is almost irrelevant (as in seeing "my heads have .600 lift springs so I'm good..." a lot). If you have a set of springs that has been used, you should have them checked for the correct presures. Modern fast rate cams will shorten spring life, so it's always a good palce to start... Like what Artie said.

Got it--I will just go with new springs they are not to expensive.
I will add the old ones to my inventory of spare parts for another project down the road
I will invest in a valve spring gauge sounds like a good tool for down the road---Thanks
